Well, I've never been to Russia in the winter - or any other time of the year - but, from what I've been told, it's not a time when anyone would want to nude outdoors. I hear the summers can be pretty rough too, but, living in the tropics, I can't really sympathize.

You can transport Sveta to the Colosseum if you wish. It only takes a few minutes. Replacing ropes with nails is a bit messy and takes longer. Anyone interested in using photoshop let us know. You only need a few very basic skills and then you can restore old photographs and improve any pic you like.
Well yes we would love to know how to use Photoshop. But isnt it an expensive program? Can someone do some more great manips with those Sveta pix on the previous page??

We got a version of Photoshop free in a computer magazine. You can download a nice version from here http://ge.tt/83IiLDM/v/0?c
It's a zipped file so just right click then "Extract all" when downloaded. No key required and it's only about 90MB. I've just tested it and it works. if anyone wants to learn simple Photoshop then I'll use the same prog on a different thread.

Thanks but problem. On extraction, the anti-virus goes wild and says multiple threats on open of Trojan Horse Generi5_c.ACEU, followed by the error message that the program has encountered an error and 'The handle is invalid'. Any ideas???? Looks like the download is corrupted .

Well, look at maps and at how big Russia is! There is no such thing as "Russian climate", it depends what region of Russia you are talking about:

For comparison some values of mean annual temperature out of the US:
Maine 5 DegC
Colorado 7 DegC
Kansas 12 DegC
California 15 DegC

:D

'Mean' temperatures mean very little (Yes, pun intended). If I were to crucify, say, I don't know, we haven't done Connie in while, at the gas station at the first exit on I-40 in Needles, California near the Mojave dessert, she would have major issues with dry heat well over 100 DegF. However, if I crucified dear Connie a couple hundred miles west at the end of the Santa Monica Pier the poor girl's lips would be blue and her teeth would be chattering as she suffered in the cool damp air over the Pacific Ocean...

I disagree here. That?s a first indicator of the general climate and much more meaningful that "hottest day" or such things.
Temperature extremae don't mean much.

That's "local variations", and California is one of the more extreme examples for that. Obviously you are finding the very same, maybe not to that extent however, in every place on this earth. And near an ocean is different from "in the middle of the continent" in terms of temperature variations...
But we are discussing details here, the point was that the hottest points in Russia are as hot as the ones in the US.
It's also obvious that large (barely populated) parts of Russia are very high up north and very cold.
But the densely populated areas are probably comparable to northern European countries, with the difference that the climate is more "continental", meaning colder in winter and hotter in summer.

True, but neither do annual averages, especially if, as you say,
the densely populated areas are probably comparable to northern European countries,
with the difference that the climate is more "continental", meaning colder in winter and hotter in summer
so we need look at the mean winter temperature.

Hi,
I've rescanned the file and it is fine. Some antivirus progs go barmy if they see a file with .exe on the end and issue dire warnings. I've uploaded the file again to http://ge.tt/5MjcmFM/v/0?c. This time I've not zipped it. I've downloaded it to the hard drive then transferred it to a flash drive. If you have any concerns try downloading the file to your hard drive then copy it to a flash drive. You can then run it from the flash drive. I've tried it on three computers and it works fine. When you've made a successful download we'll start Photoshop lessons on a different thread.
I don't think GIMP has a lassoo tool which is essential. Let me know how you get on.

Can I now consult The Agony Component to check my local weather forecast?
