Most people wear glasses but sometimes the mud is too sticky and you can't wipe it off without smearing so you have to throw them away. They definitely aren't self cleaning lol. Mud in the eye doesn't happen too often but it is the worst when it does. You spend the next two days trying to flush it all out...wow! that gives me some feel for what you put yourself through, cx!
I'm feeling quite queasy, watching that just after a good dinner
Question - do you have some sort of self-cleaning goggles?
Otherwise, however can you see?

Oh that wasn't even really that bad lol. It was packing pretty good and some girls were def having issues with clipping in but I was ok! Got to give love for the mechanics in the pits though! Without them we would all be running... I've been in much crazier races where the mud was just like super thick and sticky peanut butter and packed in a solid coating over bike and rider. It makes your bike so heavy and it clogs your pedals so you can't clip in. It also turns your shoes into snowshoe looking things made out of mud so even if you try and run you just slip and fall! Toespikes are essential for conditions like we had on Saturday. I much prefer a more liquidy mud. It's still slick and slow but doesn't pack. Just gets you fantastically filthy! The mud is just crazy, just watching the cameras it comes at you from all angles once a few people have started kicking it up. Amazing to watch you all in action though...well done
what can I say....I just love being a dirty girl....So your body resembles your mind

Dammit when will I learn not to tease the most athletic person on the site ?

yes when you do the kind of cycling I do you get all too familiar with all the different types. How it makes your bike ride, how to adjust tire pressure, what it tastes like when you find out you didn't adjust the pressure correctly.... The worst tasting mud is in Belgium where they use cow grazing fields as race sites during winter.....that's not mud you're tasting...oh yes, you get a good class of mud in MK!
We have very good mud in Galloway, and lots of it,
but the competitive biking up here is cross-country/ mountain biking

Yes but at least it is not mud from the civet slave rearing fields of Missouri
Having just posted the second installment of The Whipping Salon, I would like to reflect upon my new found admiration for authors of erotic fiction. Giant kudos to you all. I have found the process much slower than writing non-fiction. A lot of fun - but time consuming. At least for me.
I encourage those who have not tried it, to let their imaginations soar, and share the results.
Words and music! It is much harder than I ever thought it would be and then these bastard members conspire to distract me
Keep at it...

a hot evening in the coffee-shop
You're off to a fine start, L.T.
When I came here, I'd only written poems - I enjoy reading poetry, I don't read novels much.
Starting to write stories here was a process of self-discovery,
it, and all the encouragement and friendship here,
have certainly helped me come to terms with dark and troubling things in me
that I can cope with much better in consequence.
I still don't find it easy - I could never produce ongoing stories in the way Tree and Wragg do,
I still tend to work like a poet, wrestling for the right word, the right rhythm, and that can take time,
but if an idea for a story has hatched inside me, it takes hold of me and leads me along.
