Somehow he left out the naked Bard-Slave chained to a Coffee grindstone, trudging endlessly under the whip....round,and round she toils....

As I posted just now in Conversazione Italiana su CF:

Beh, come sai, siamo piuttosto affezionati agli italiani! E gli italiani sono stati una minoranza popolare nel nostro paese per molto tempo - da qui il tartan italiano.

Non che siamo così ostili ai nostri vicini: hanno giocato un buon calcio, è stato davvero un onorevole 1 - 1.

(Well, as you know, we are quite fond of Italians! And Italians have been a popular minority in our country for a long time - hence the Italian tartan. Not that we're so hostile to our neighbors - they played good football, it was truly an honorable 1 - 1.)

Those girls must belong to the McAroni clan! ;)

Clan Italia is a splendid business, 'the brainchild of Michael Lemetti, a 3rd generation Scots/Italian, who lives with his wife and two sons in Falkirk, a short drive from Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh in Central Scotland. His family originated from the province of Lucca in northwest Tuscany in the late 19th century and have always been mainly involved in the retail and catering business. Along with his son Gianni, he researched the concept of an Italian Tartan - resulting in the first approved ethnic tartan in Scotland - The Italian National Tartan. The tartan was subsequently registered in 2004 with the Scottish Tartan Authorities and also received the approval of the Italian Government.'

It’s astonishing what you can learn on cruxforums..
the Scottish Tartan Authorities
I wouldn’t want to mess with those people.. they send out swat teams to raid picnics and confiscate all the non-authentic-tartan paper napkins and car-blankets..

So can one apply to register a personal tartan--say the Dalai Lama or someone like that?

Here is the tartan of the clan McDuck.

"The Hound of the Whiskervilles" appears in the June 2021 addition of Carl Bark's "Walt Disney's Uncle $crooge", which contains the iconic panel of Donald preparing to eat Haggis to bolster his courage. "Is this something I'm supposed to eat or just view from a distance."

Indeed, the National Register of Tartans was established by an Act of the Scottish Parliament in 2008, and is administered by Scottish National Records. anyone, from anywhere in the world, can register a new tartan (individuals, schools and corporate groups as well as professional designers and weavers) providing that it meets the criteria for registration.

The Dalai Lama hasn't registered one (yet), though he has visited Scotland, in particular the great Tibetan Buddhist temple and monastery, Samye Ling, at Eskdalemuir north of Lockerbie.

I believe Elvis had registered his own tartan.

I don't like "Conversazione Italiana".
I was invited to that post by a great friend of mine (friend on cruxforums) but I had some arguments because of a person who bothered me and very irritated (evidently he could not understand my way of making jokes and joking ) and I took off.
