Ahhhh, good to know that there is someone else in the world, and a German no less, who shares my aversion to beer, and is also a lightweight concerning alcohol. Riesling lovers unite!!!
Ahem, to be careful: There are often German beers which are tasting too "bitter" for me, so I drink them mixed with different lemonades which are sometimes called "Radler" in Germany, derived from "Radl" (= Fahrrad = bicycle) which probably means in Bavaria that you can still drive a bicycle after drinking it.
In summer holidays and in daylight, the most ordered drinks to meals in German outdoor restaurants are still beers. Wine is a drink to be ordered to more sophisticated meals in the evenings.
But there are also some German beers with very few or no alcohol which do not taste bitter at all, also liked especially by women and you can also drink them without any problems to meals like these ones:

Unfortunately, I have to say goodbye now for today because I still have something to prepare for my "Wiedereingliederungsveranstaltung" tomorrow morning. ;)

That's a pity, then unfortunately I can't join your Riesling Club, because when I do drink wine I prefer a dry Grauburgunder, Pinot Gris (Pinot Grigio). If I drank a lot of beer in the past year, then no more than three bottles. But I really like Bundaberg Ginger Brew, an Australian non-alcoholic ginger ale.

According to our most famous German technical experts and engineers, our German inventions and devices certainly NEVER fail ... and in some few rare cases such as our new capital airport in Berlin - which is our latest and newest airport for at least 20 years of preparation now - all our experts are at least feeling ashamed for the following decades and they put themselves into a "shaming corner" in their bureaus for ten minutes every day!
The rest of the day, they are probably proud of the greatest German technical failure ever in our history books!
With some luck, they can remove their offices to the rebuilt Berliner Stadtschloss. At least, if the works there get finished before the airport.:roto2cafe:

384 new cases here in Newfoundland today and 1 death , the numbers are lower but less testing done on weekends
Here in Thuringia we had 1377 new cases today, 959 of which were omicron cases

It's going to be difficult with the City Palace, because they don't really want their offices on a permanent construction site. Because no matter what is planned, I think the opening could perhaps last until 2050, unless you get an American boss (see Tesla factory in Grünheide).

Next, the Garnisonkirche in Potsdam! To be completed this century?

Fortunately I don’t have to be so terribly ashamed of my aversion to beer (1 or 2 is the limit if I’m in the mood) since the Australian wine industry is highly respected. It is funny though when we go to the pub and I order a chilled Pinot Gris for myself and a beer for my wife and they deliver it beer to me, wine to wife!

30 years ago and I would not be called a genuine Aussie Man for this practice!

In CoVid related news, my app has been mostly red for weeks, and half my shop colleagues have caught it. Last Friday I tested positive (fully vaccinated, and had my booster 3 weeks earlier) but am through the worst, enough to make me too sick to work but I’ve suffered worse flus. I assume it is Omicron.

Our case numbers are noticeably dropping off now, down to 17,000 yesterday for NSW (population just under 9 million). We were topping the world for new cases for a period but hopefully we are through the peak.

I think there is some truth in the idea that the reason Omicron spiked so sharply was because so few of us caught any variant before December. And thankfully the vast majority of us are fully vaccinated plus we are catching Omicron at least 4 to 1 compared to Delta. Most deaths have been with comorbidity and unvaccinated. Still under 30 per day (which are giant numbers for us).

I am really sorry your country has had to suffer a visit from Nigel Farage, former Brexit party leader and now just desperate to get his stupid fuckface on TV by leaping to the defence of no-vax Djokovic.. the man is an odious puddle of putrid gunge from the bottom of a food bin.

Glad to hear you’re over the worst and hope you’re 100% back to normal soon!

Omicron is highly infectious, much worse than Delta. That is why it is taking over--out competing delta. (You never hear about alpha anymore, and gamma and beta never really got off the ground.) Supposedly it is a little less susceptible to antibodies raised against delta and the others, but it is both less dangerous in it's own right and controlled pretty well by the vaccines. So getting it when you are vaccinated is like getting another booster shot with side effects unless you are very unlucky.
The United States, with a large population of unvaccinated diehards, is seeing a lot of unnecessary deaths, and the hospitals are overwhelmed with the unvaccinated and they are crowding out people with other conditions that need urgent care. The "spike" tends to fade after the susceptible population diminishes.
I did read that tweaking an mRNA vaccine against new variants is easier than producing a flu vaccine by culturing the virus in duck eggs.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of uninformed stupidity in the world. However, this is going to be the most studied virus in the world, and there are already two oral treatments for cases caught early.

And it is also a drink for very intelligent and sophisticated drinkers
I've only just returned after a week away.

What a coincidence! Last Friday I consumed my last bottle of Hyper Malt

1642950988703.pngmade by Darguner Brauerei GmbH in (of course) Dargun. It was well past its Best Before date, but still excellent. I must have bought it in the Netherlands because although on that holiday I drove to Kleve (Cleves) , I cannot remember shopping there.
