I would like to show you some of my works about witch trials.
Hope you like it.

Today the interrogation of Anne the blacksmith's daughter continues. It is already the fifth day of her ordeal.
She was treated on the rack for almost three hours. Then the executioner's efford was successful and she confessed to being a witch.
The witch commissioner, assisted by a monk, questioned her for further details.
If her answers are not gainful enougth, the executioner and his servant will not hesitate to stretch her a little more or drop some molten pitch on her skin again.
It's a grim irony that her father forged the chains, the torture boots, and the pot to boil pitch.

A very appreciable work both aesthetically and in the narrative part (in particular for the use of boiling pitch and -naturally- for the fact that the tortured girl is the blacksmith's daughter...)

Thank you for your positive feedback. There will be a few more short stories to come. I'm working on it...

Pitch was sometimes used in German witch hunts. The moderate version boiled, but the harsher version was burning pitch.
 
A common method for identifying witches is to look for suspicious markings on the body. The executioner will soon find some marks and check them with needles. After a devil's mark is found on the woman's body, her guilt is clear.
She is then examined for magical accessories. The executioner also takes a close look at her body openings. The priest then sprinkles her with holy water and she has to put on her torture clothing, usually a gown or loincloth. The clothing was also previously soaked in holy water.
These preparations keep away the devil who would otherwise try to help her. She is also blindfolded so that her evil eye cannot bewitch her interrogators and torturers.

Another way to identify witches is the ordeal by water.
This poor woman was arrested two days ago after her neighbor accused her of putting a spell on his apple trees. This morning she was taken to a lake near the city walls and stripped naked. Her hands and feet are tied together.
She is filled with shame because the townspeople on the other side are staring at her. She is also filled with fear because just a week ago she witnessed the burning of three witches.
In a few moments the executioner will push her into the water. To ensure that she floats on the water, the executioner's servant is ready. This way their guilt is quickly recognized.
If she does not confess her heresy and witchcraft, the executioner will deal with her again in the torture tower beyond.
