She is really holed!
Stan Goldman stared out the window as the Boeing 777 taxied towards the runway, preparing for takeoff. He had a great view across the Hudson towards the Manhattan skyline, the two clusters of skyscrapers, one at Midtown and one Downtown, where One World Trade Center, the replacement for the twin towers that had fallen on that fateful day in September, 2001, towered above the rest.
The engines roared and the plane rolled down the runway, lifting and turning to the northwest,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking! Due to typhoon Barbaria, active near Japan, we are currently unable to make it to our destination Tokyo...."So bear with me, and know that Stan Goldman’s unexpectedly long flight time over the Pacific will eventually … hopefully … come to an end and he will land safely in Tokyo in time to save Barb and friends from the fiendish machinations of the Syndicate.
Wow, Stan on five thousand per day,Hey, the Swedes are paying me $ 5,000/day, so I have all the time in the world-Stan Goldman
Only 5000 $ a day? The Syndicate has a name for that : 'peanuts'.Hey, the Swedes are paying me $ 5,000/day, so I have all the time in the world-Stan Goldman
Let's say : a holding pattern over Honolulu, Tahiti, New caledonia and Guam would also be envisagable!Tokyo airport told the captain to approach the airport from the west, not the east. So the pilot turned the plane around with a sigh and had to fly all around the world to get there...
Barb may try and sneak that onto the airplane to take homeAnd the sooner Barb will resume the story, the sooner she will be able to savour... authentic Japanese Riesling, wine like this one :

Come on, Barb, what are you waiting for?
Good pilots must be in short supply these days!Tokyo airport told the captain to approach the airport from the west, not the east. So the pilot turned the plane around with a sigh and had to fly all around the world to get there...
Grant Barb an extension, who can refuse her?
Except perhaps the Yakusa.
We`ll just have to wait,
Though it`s a bit late,
To read as they cruelly abuse her.
I suspect Barb will be getting to know them intimately, and No, I`m not reading ahead!Good pilots must be in short supply these days!
Come on! Give them a break. The Yakiza families are all very nice folks once you get to know them.
Definitely need to check that out .And the sooner Barb will resume the story, the sooner she will be able to savour... authentic Japanese Riesling, wine like this one :

Strangely, Suntory used to produce a dreadful imitation Scotch back in the 1950s, but have moved on, and now produce some very good whiskies. I`ve never tried it, but there`s no reason why they shouldn`t be capable of producing a reasonable wine.Definitely need to check that out .
Great illustration @settantuno ! I will insert it into the story and look forward to Moore as the story progresses.
Speaking from experience, Moore??. The Yakiza families are all very nice folks once you get to know them.
