I think that it would be preferable in this way ...
Surely the greatest story ever told.I've been filling in some gaps in the illustrations for "The Serpent's Eye" where I had to skip over some of the action or else I'd never have finished. Looks like I might never finish anyway!
I'm working on some more scenes for the interval where Sabina is carrying her patibulum to the place of execution. I'd already shown her struggling and being pushed along once she balked upon seeing how close she was to her cross. Now, in this scene, she's almost at the end of her journey. Hercules, the executioner's helper who has been leading her by a chain attached to the iron collar around her neck, has stopped and turned around and is pulling her steadily closer, dragging her like a terrified animal. Meanwhile, Antius, the executioner, stands waiting with his hammer and nails.

And here is a near-victim's eye view and a couple of close-ups.

the proofWow! That's very flattering to think that you'd do that! And believe me, you've only seen a small fraction of the renders I have for all of these scenes. I tend to experiment with various viewing angles, then pick what I think are the best ones to use for illustrations. And the ones I put here are only what I think might be appropriate for the "victim's eye view" of each scene.
Hercules, the executioner's helper, continues to drag Sabina toward her agonizing fate by her lead chain until finally, she staggers and falls to her knees. Her patibulum slides forward until its end is resting on the ground. Exhausted from fighting, she no longer screams or fights, just kneels there, body sagging in surrender. Hercules pulls up on her chain, forcing her head up so that everyone can see her shame and she has to look at the post where she is about to be crucified.

This is very effective! You have captured her look of shame and helplessness, and her physical exhaustion so well. The body language is as effective as her facial expression.
Since I saw yesterday's scene (8c) I've been hoping you would fill in just this missing moment, when she falls at the end of the via doloris, before the beam falls to the ground as she is dragged to her feet in front of her implacable mistress and the executioner.Hercules, the executioner's helper, continues to drag Sabina toward her agonizing fate by her lead chain until finally, she staggers and falls to her knees. Great new stuff with good description. With Sabina at the place of execution, the two executioner's helpers, Ajax and Hercules, begin to make the final preparations for her crucifixion. While Ajax removes the shackles from her wrists, Hercules lifts the patibulum off of her shoulder, continuing to hold the lead chain that connects to her iron collar.
Sabina, exhausted from carrying the heavy beam, twists her head around to watch what Ajax is doing, knowing that in just a few minutes they will pin her down and nail her wrists to the old, blood-soaked timber. The executioner is standing right in front of her waiting, hammer and nails in his hands.
