Inmate Moore`s travails in the Hardtime Women`s Prison are not over. Several months after her first whipping, she and two of her fellow inmates continued to complain about the food and conditions generally. The Warden has had enough, and Barb and her two companions are now secured naked in the prison yard, where all the prison population has been assembled. The Warden has already indicated her displeasure, and addresses her staff, three of whom are armed with long heavy prison straps. "Right, ladies, give `em twenty lashes apiece, and when you`ve done, give Moore another twenty, and let`s see if that teaches her anything."

To which I quietly mutter to the two inmates to my right, “fat chance of that happening.”
