A short addendum to my last post about the breast tax in parts of India. Of course, the original idea was not to tax women's breasts. It was a poll tax and the name made it clear who had to pay the tax: all women who, according to tradition and dress code, walked around with their breasts exposed.
There was no argument about the age of girls and young women, which was difficult to verify at the time: if you have well developed tits, you have to pay the tax – it's that simple! And that's why it was ultimately a real tit tax – even though the size of the breasts didn't matter. That would be my creative proposal for a change to the tax on tits...
The historical photo actually shows a young Tiyan woman from Malabar (Kerala, India) with magnificent breasts, taken around 1912. This image is used in many contexts, from erotic photography to historical clothing in India to the breast tax.
For me it is no wonder that this image is used in so many different ways. This young woman with her fabulous tits is a suitable example for imposing a luxury breast tax - a maximum surcharge on the basic rate of a usual breast tax.
And another suggestion on the subject: whoever cannot pay the breast tax can look for someone who will pay the tax debt...
In return, the supporter gets the right to torture the defaulting woman's breasts a little to his liking...
