that phrase is used in English - well I use it. Quite often
it suggests to me a particular kind of very sharp, acute pain -
needles under my fingernails for example, would be 'exquisite',
a bullwhip round my bum wouldn't be.

Really nice set. I like the texture of the pictures - gives them an old world feel. She's clearly moved through peril and is finding out the delights of the other side.
