I don't necessarily see this as a problem either and I'm sure I speak for all my friends in my BDSM circles, both doms and subs:
Well, I'm also the kind of Dom (my female slaves and servants have to address me as "Sir") who puts the health and safety of his subs above all else, and I behave accordingly in our BDSM roleplay sessions.
The well-being of my subs (including guest subs in clubs or at performances), both physically and mentally, is always my top priority!
Being able to lead a submissive woman/slave with a lot of sensitivity, whose pain tolerance and even her desire for pain goes beyond the limit of permanent damage, i.e. when this limit becomes blurred (especially in sessions with "all severity") characterises a good and experienced Dom, if he can lead her exactly to this boundary and walk along it together with her, but still avoids permanent damage or even just permanent marks.
But in some cases, I even accept a brief, careful crossing of the border at her express request, because that's what the code words ‚brake‘ and ‚stop‘ are for (althoughI've never had to hear ‚stop‘ in about twenty years).
A loving and tender aftercare, a delicious dinner, laughter and fooling around after a session are also an essential part - the harder the session, the more loving my aftercare.
However, I must also openly and honestly admit that it was a long and arduous way before I was able to acquire these skills and sensory reception capabilities - not without the support of my honoured subordinates, of course. I never miss an opportunity to express my gratitude and utmost respect to them.
