Alice Kiss - Crux Legend

Therefore it's good that artists sometimes explain their workflows (Bobinder, Jollyrei, Madiosi and others).
I did that, sometimes but I've not the vocabulary to well do it ...... alas ...:(

the first one may not be quite what you envisaged, perhaps, but tenacity does pay off. I wonder if I can find my first manip. My recollection is that it wasn't that great, but I probably deleted it in a fit of pique.
It just takes practice... My first ones were crap!!!
Of course, and more if you do learn with a new material ...
Concerning Wragg, I suppose that he has not the time to do : Mrs Wragg doesn't see on what he's working !

Bob was OK for that I post my Alice'manip of "Anjou'Calvaries " there ...
So, I do ... Enjoy ...

Alice screams : "Oooooooooooooh ! Messa, Judith is wonderful, never I've had a so deep orgasm !"

Messa whispers : "I know well, Alice ..."

Oh, I should think so. Anyway, she doesn't have much choice, does she. These amazons are hell-bent on freeing her. I mean, you know what Erin's like when she gets into the rescuing mood.

Thanks Messa, Alice manips are always welcome in this thread. You have produced an attractive composition which presents an original take on the crucifixion of Alice (and yourself, with Judith in attendance.) Old pictures keep turning up as well as new ones in which artists are continuing to find inspiration from the 'Crux Forrest' session. Alice remains as popular as ever.

Interestingly, the artistic inspiration provided by Alice is not limited to photo manipulations. Jedakk made a detailed study of several Makar models, including Erica, Lena, Julia and Alice, for his illustrations to 'The Serpent's Eye'. I recently found some comments by Jedakk from February 2016, in which he acknowledged Alice's contribution to the realistic posing of his 3D crux figures -

'Alice was the best, a shapely little waif who decorated a cross very nicely. I thought Erika was maybe number two. I used them both as references when creating Poser scenes... One of the qualities that made Alice such an appealing cruxee was her ability to emote. No doubt hanging roped to a cross as she was could have been painful and not something she might have looked forward to doing. Weighing about 90 pounds probably made it a lot more tolerable, but Alice managed to portray her part better than most. She was a pretty good actress.'

In fact Alice's weight was closer to 112 pounds, but nevertheless she had a light build, which contributed to her endurance throughout an afternoon of dynamic performances on the cross. Immersing herself in the role so effectively ensured that she gained the attention of crux artists who wanted to create totally convincing scenes. Her appeal in this respect continues undiminished after a whole decade, and is confirmed in every new piece of crux art which employs her.

As for Messa and Alice competing for Judith's attentions, they're just good friends really.

I go tonight a bit through the thread CMCK-results and found a Alice-Manip (2015).

Thanks for these contributions, Madi. They present interesting before and after views of the Amazons' bid to rescue Alice, which is in itself an original theme for Alice crux manips. The 'INRI' titulus makes a direct reference to Christian iconography, and accordingly, Makar's ropes have been exchanged for nails through wooden washers.

Alice is calling out and has attracted the attention of the standing Roman. No sooner have the crouching figures reached down to pick up their weapons, than the attackers are upon them. The focus of attention shifts suddenly from Alice on the left, to the Amazons appearing on the right.

Subtle changes to the figure of Alice include adjustments in colour and orientation to suit the lighting conditions and cross of the new background scene. The flesh tones are well resolved throughout all the figures to create a convincing overall impression.

In the pre-attack scene, the figure composition produces a strong diagonal emphasis through the centre of the picture. In the attack scene, the open-mouthed cry of the girl at the far right mirrors Alice's own expression, providing a visual balance for the image. Note also how the weapons of the three Amazons assume the same angle as Alice's left arm, reinforcing their unity of purpose. In contrast, the Romans appear distracted and disorganised. The girls look set to win this one.

Jollyrei has posted today, 5 July 2017, in his thread, Filtered And Artistic Manips And Pictures Gallery, the latest variation of Alice, employing his established motif of the exhausted crucifix, derived from Makar's original photograph. The intrepid manipulator is blazing a trail in 'computer/fine art' interpretations of Alice, and the latest picture is a bold experiment in emulation of the visual style of artist, actor, comedian and singer Martin Mull. Jollyrei refers to '...Martin Mull's paintings which do a collage-style mix of photo, painting, and black and white. I rather liked the style, so I tried a crux manip trying to capture that. Here the background is the Logan Botanical Gardens in Scotland...'

Mull's collages place black-and-white photographic figures against coloured backgrounds, rendered in a pop art style, precisely in the manner which Jollyrei has achieved here. Having previously portrayed Alice with her original companion, Koshka, and again with Makar's Sasha, he develops his theme by presenting Alice in the company of a crux model from an alternative studio. He has already united Alice with Welsh Webb's Shannon and Orchid's Katrina. Now we see her crucified with Arkady's Samantha, the solarised greyscale accents of both figures complimenting the virtual palette-knife treatment of a coloured background which is simultaneously bold and subdued.

As Jollyrei observes, Alice and Samantha are both memorable, expressive and dynamic crux models who have enjoyed extensive popularity with manipulators for many years. But this is a very different treatment from the usual manips. The contrast between the pleasant greenery of the garden and the intense monochromatic rendering of the figures highlights their suffering in an original way. Whilst the traditional 'Agony in the Garden' theme provides an early prelude to crucifixion, Jollyrei presents the highlight of Alice's passion in attractive scenery which successfully enhances the visual tension between pleasure and pain.

It was a nice bit of serendipity, in a rambling chat about trees, I mentioned and showed a pic of exotic ones growing at Logan, which is near the southern tip of Scotland, the Mull of Galloway, that reminded Windar of Martin Mull, Madiosi posted a couple of his pictures, and so... :D

Anyway, we know well that we are working for our own pleasure in first
that's the true meaning of an 'amateur' -
not doing it for money, for glory, or to meet any deadline -
just for love :)

Soon (this evening) I'll post here and in "MyDeep Fantasies" a manip in honor of Alice ...
This manip was perhaps one of those which was asking for the most work since that I do manips ...
All was worked in it :
the two crucified girls, deleting ropes and putting nails and blood , working the light etc... and also finding a cross for Messa ...
After that I did this work, I put my characters into the photo (this photo was taken by me) and I added Judith in the foreground to show that she is the real decision maker of the following (... that you can imagine yourselves ...;))
Not less than ( I can evaluate) 4 or 5 hours were necessary for this result ...
I hope you'll enjoy ...
Messa:)
