As others have already said, it's great to see this new interpretation of a classic crux scene, using a different medium from the original drawings - and especially good when it receives the approval of the original artist and author. The fine details are presented very successfully - open mouths, teeth clenched in agony, whip welts and tear tracks, the rustic poles of the stipes combined with sawn timber patibula. Both of the latter are firmly secured by ropes, the wood grain, bark texture and the mortice and tenon construction are entirely credible. Nice work, Em!
The latest is simply breathtaking. One can stare at these visages and new details spring to mind in addition to the drama and power of the image as a whole. Bobinder has covered the detailing well, but what I cannot get over is the magic of the body language and facial expressions. Exquisite!
Gorgeous. Really captures the spirit of the story, and a nice nod to Jastrow's previous interpretation.

At the time I was a major fan with the low grade hots for The Gilmore girls
and I felt that Helmut did an outstanding job at showing what they’d look like nailed naked to crosses.
Gilmore Girls was a great show, I loved it for the snarky irreverence shown to almost everything by Lorelei and her daughter. But, the show, I’m afraid, never quite got around to having them nailed naked to crosses.At the time I was a major fan with the low grade hots for The Gilmore girls

Em, took me longer than I like to admit to realize The Killmore Girls really are meant to be Lorelai and Rory. The resemblances are excellent, especially for Rory.
I had also forgotten Rory told her mom she was pregnant in the very last GG episode, which sets your scene 6-8 months after that episode.

I was talking to a friend of mine, and we thought that might be Lorelai and Paris instead. That blonde girl looks nothing like Rory. I don’t think it’s the mother-daughter pair that would really represent the show.At the time I was a major fan with the low grade hots for The Gilmore girls

also, fun fact; Connecticut (which is where Stars Hollow should probably be) does not have the death penalty, but it does have inmates on death row who have been sentenced to the death penalty. if that doesn't make sense, welcome to Connecticut, where nothing makes sense.

This is the end of my first proper series! That is, more than a few images in a row. It's a little non-lethal, but, I think that is a welcome break from the absolute carnage of agony elsewhere in my art.
