Noted early 20th century photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston was know for his nude photographs of Ziegfeld Follies girls. After tracking down biographical information about Martha Lober, I thought I’d see how many others I could find.

Unambiguously gorgeous Catherine Moylan had a relatively short career

Imagine this lady in color, with her signature crown of red hair.



Ann Pennington is another forgotten household word, a Broadway dancer and movie star who performed from the Teens to the 40's, doing product endorsements long after most Ziegfeld girls had faded,



and her rendition of the Black Bottom Dance was definitive.

But alas and dammit, she never did get naked enough.

was an early proponent of dancing nude upon the stage



appearing as tableaux vivant Greek statues



and got in a few films as well.
