The forgettable story revolves in parts around Jess (Jesi Jensen), a young woman who is dragged into some generic good guys/bad guys situation. In the course of the film she is taken hostage by the baddie, who ties her up and makes sure her mouth is occupied.

Abstruse is cheaply made and one of the few films I have skipped through rather than actually watched before adding to this thread. At least we get some nice gag-sobs out of it.

As I understand it this is a candid shot from behind the scenes, where Ms Jensen is prepared for the upcoming take. So, next time you think you have a shitty job, just remember a person got paid for making sure that a pretty actress was properly ball-gagged for multiple scenes.

Yes, those were the days (or so I am told, as I wasn't born yet). This film is ~1970, and the woman without the stockings, Lina Romay, passed away form natural causes last year.

Penny Dreadful S01E05 has a great sequence of "treatments" in a Victorian mental asylum. The actress is Eva Green, experiencing (in sequence) an ice-cold bath dressed in a straitjacket and long skirt, being manhandled and strapped to a bed in her straitjacket struggling wildly until sedated with a huge syringe, dragged life-less through a corridor by two burly attendants, being shackled in a crucified position against a tiled wall and blasted with ice-cold water, and finally being strapped to a barber's chair, gagged with a vicious cleave gag and shorn bald.

At one point Christine is incarcerated and has to drag a grindstone along a dirt road towards a statue of the Virgin Mary. For the uninitiated the preparations resemble those of an ordeal by water, though.



Die Schwarze Spinne is an adaptation of the novella of the same title by the Swiss writer Jeremias Gotthelf.

Thanks for the vid clip so I know it is real and somewhere - still from this were in a film mag I have somewhere - someone I spoke with years ago said most clips featured in those mags were never made - obviously (and delightfully) not!!

It isn't HOM - I'll have to hunt around to find the name given (or the mag somewhere) - I do remember it was about harem/slave gals one of whom tried to kill whomever was in charge and he had them 'strung up' to find out more. The still were always intensely provacative.
