Its a very rare one with this "naked" crucifixion, Yehohanan-style crucifixion with a huge nail through the ankles and legs bent to the side, wooden washers with spikes through the wrists, no foot-rest, but some type of sedile. I considered it extremely "hot" over all the years since I got it. Thanks again, by the way, to the original poster, who posted it about 15 years ago.

I recently came across this picture over at the MCR Yahoo group. My initial impressions were that this was a painting done by someone who appreciated the beauty and erotic nature of male crucifixion and that is was intended for an audience that also shared the same appreciation.

Imagine my surprise to learn that this came from a children's book! These are attractive young men exposed for all to see and while the legs of the prisoner in the forefront certainly hide certain man parts, the young fellow in the back is fully exposed, complete with just the slightest bit of his manhood drawn in for added detail. The looks of desperation are priceless.

If this was part of my CCD education I would have found it MUCH more interesting!

Indeed, as I did write here and over there at the Yahoo group, the original was posted by user VIIXVI/ServusRexx/Rich at the Yahoo group (or its precedessor) many years ago. I noticed that it seemed to be unknown here at Cruxforums and it fitted into the discussion about violent or explicit crucifixion depictions in children/youth good friday books and the impressions they may have had on our "fetish development".

Please, if other users have similar stuff in their collection, dont hesitate to scan and post it. I am sure there is more out there from catholic/religous education books, since the more gruesome and violent the crucifixion and torture depiction is, the more the kids/youth may appeciate the sacrifice and pain, Jesus went through "for us" to free us from our "sins" - if you believe the mythology behind it.

I personally believe that Jesus was a historical figure and that he was indeed crucified. But what he was teaching, what he really believed, what he wanted and in which position he saw himself, can nobody know today, since all what he may have said, has been changed, transformed, manipulated, interpreted, modified over the centuries, in the gospels, in the church, by the rulers in his name and finally disfigured beyond recognition.

If he was "resurrected" or if he died "for our sins" is a question of faith, not of history or science.

It started with his wonderful illustration "General and Slave", and I was inspired to write a story; How the slave betrays the general and the price he pays. You are right, Balti. This particular one isn't my fantasy, but like you I come here to feed and to express my fantasy. Our souls stripped bare, like the bodies on these crosses.

"Homoeros" shows indeed great talent, especially when designing the very handsome faces of these men in his collection, but for my taste the bodies and muscle structure are a bit "overdone". Looks more like these guys take every day a huge overdosis of anabolica and steroids for breakfast. A bit less is sometimes a bit more...

There's well muscled and there's fantasy. Homoeros tends towards the fantasy, but I still like his pics.

Unlike some I like to image his subjects under a female gaze.
And why not? Muscled or not, a male body bare and stretched out for a woman's pleasure

In that case I wonder why you have a still picture from the "A.D. - The Bible Continues" series, episode 4, where lots of skinny boys and youth are being crucified, as your avatar and not a gladiator muscle hunk hanging on a cross ?!

This is all a matter of taste & what one's own preferences sexually are. I still prefer photographs or manipulations from photos, there is something about the light on those Homoeros images that just doesn't ring true to me. I tend to agree with Tygorn, the figures are too muscled & perfect, but if that is how one likes to see men then it's OK with me. All types were crucified, attractive, ugly, fat, thin, muscled, or skinny, viewers attending executions didn't really have a choice, & of course the unperfect body would have been mercilessly mocked by the crowd.

I wish though the figures in such manipulations like those of Homoeros were a bit more beaten about & bloodied, and even rather filthy & sweaty.

Those photo manips of Nikbon's are good, but I wish he had defringed the figure, the jagged edge does give a certain harshness to the image, but I am rather a stickler for accuracy. Sorry, just in a mood to moan today!

Because i didnt get the chance to see the true murderer on the cross... he was hung... but he died by the arrow... someohow my fantasy is related to justice...
