Conviction by General Bonaparte of a canteen maid guilty of concealing silver stolen by soldiers during the Italian campaign.
The episode is attested to in the memoirs of Captain Jean Coignet.
Too bad it wasn't a wooden donkey.

Chinese civilization seemed to be much more advanced in this regard in the XVIII century... :sisi1
