Thanks. The first one is worth considering, the last three not that much. Can't make a practical pillory for boobs, can you? A titpress maybe, but even so ...

How heavy gotta be? I mean someone in a weakened state, flogged wouldn't be able to carry a 200 pounds real wood cross couple of kilometers, methinks.

Hmmm, did they [the Romans] have any milling wood technology? I mean would their crosses be like straight 2x4 you can get at HomeDepot or roughly cut pieces of wood of an approximate rectangular profile, like a Injun shack built in the bayou?

Also how do they historically attach the horizontal beam to the vertical one? Nails? Ropes?
 
Oh you have such good questions! The Romans probably used roughly split wood, basically leftover from constructions. They would not waste good wood on bad women. Nails or ropes would suffice to make the cross. But they would also use mortise and tenon joints.

I see, OK, I'll try one but on those posing is more important than the subject, if I can't get a good pose of a female straining under the weight, if it look overly fake that's one sure way to kill the composition. I'll try, no promise.

The Romans already had a well-developed woodworking technique. Here are some archaeological finds from Roman times

OTOH, wulfie, what's the guard pouring in the mouth of the breast-nailed, hair-pulled vic in the image you suggested? Also the breasts will be a lot more flat, for the sake of autenthicity. Now they look more like inflated airbags rather than human boobies.
 
According to the text, it is a mixture of castor oil, hot peppers, and horse radish.
As for the breasts, that's typical Stanton and I agree they should be flattened a bit. Btw, the text doesn't even mention the nails in her tits. Odd.

Wolfie man, that's the best I could do (and it's not a lot), sorry, the subject doesn't move my erect-o-meter at all, can't say why. Don't have a jaw stretcher as prescribed so I used a prop I made for water drinking torture. I'll try next that cross carrying thing, just to have it checked on my list but after a bit, I'll be in vacation with the tribe for now.

How were the beams carried by convicts? Tied with ropes to the hands? Free holding? Already nailed? How's the norm?

That is a fantastic emulation. It is as close as anyone could have gotten on such short notice and it looks fantastic and sexy.

Tied with ropes around the wrists was the most common.

Are you kidding me? I love it, and you did an awesome job with it in a short amount of time. Again... and excuse the pun..... you nailed it, especially the spiked breasts.

OK, here's the one requested with the gals going toward their Golgota. Already well populated by previous captives. I had to guess about the wood quality of their load, hope I got it right. Unfortunately doesn't move my erect-o-meter so I'll not going to persevere in this direction. Hope you enjoy.

Had it ready for awhile but with both places I post in shut-down mode it had to wait. :/

I'm not a big fan of Pichard's art style, but I do love the various tortures he depicts. The one attached is one that I like a lot, so offering it as a suggestion for something similar (don't care about the 3rd woman or the background).

Me neither. Hmm, any facial molestation is an instant turn-off to me, I like them to look good. The ropework and chainwork is too intricate to be functional in any way ... hmmm, what can I say? Rings around the clavicle? Too much of a SAW movie to be erotic to me ... sorry wulfie man, I'd have to pass here ... but feel free to suggest something else, might get closer to my favs next time.
