I’m roughly on the same page, but on the other side as victim. In RL play, I try to avoid permanent marking, but I certainly don’t mind heavy play, and have picked up the occasional scar.
Have you seen the series Altered Carbon? In that the main character's consciousness is uploaded in to a 100% realistic program where he is tortured to death over and over.

I am thinking of incorporating something like this in a sequel to my current story, not sure yet. I don't want to do it too obiviously or plainly to keep stakes high, but I also want to explore heavier methods too. Tough spot.

That scenario is similar to a story by an author named Turk way back in the late 80's (bought it through a mail order outfit). The jist of it was about a planet where femles ruled (I don't recall for sure but I think males were regarded as a slave class), and included some medieval type intrigue where traitors and suspects were horribly tortured, even to death, then sent to the doctors for repair and made whole again so the torture could continue. There was the element of final death that involved beheading (i think) that would end the victims life permanently. The tortures were quite a turn-on a I recall, though I can't remember any specifics. To my knowledge it has never been online, but I would very much like to have it again.
Also, in real life, I had some scars on my back and ass (sliced open due to whipping; once, I needed to be glued). I had a partial shoulder dislocation (no permanent damage because I was young, flexible, extremely lucky, and not to mention fucking stupid to even get into that). I have smaller burn marks here and there, nothing too obvious. Luckily (in this case), I had a few skin moles removed, and back in those days, they were lasered off, not cut with a scalpel. So I can blame a few cigarette or soldering iron burns on that. Oh, and a few ruptured blood vessels in testicles. Not good, not sustainable. All this kind of shepherded us towards electro eventually. No marks, just pain.
You aren't ? One couldn't tell from the image, that's for sure. The realism is off the charts, and I can't even guess the art talent it took to create it. The best I can do is say I appreciate your work and that you share it here with us. Thank you Sir.
