I listen to my "voices"
Oh ok,stupid me I missed it.On the 17th
I disagree that you have put things in perspective. Not everyone can work in a lab- who would produce whatever they discovered. If you didn't ride your bicycle some folks would be without jobs making your bike. I had a desk job most of my career at the 'phone' company. Big deal one might say but without me and my team orders would have never been placed to provide both voice and data communications between hospitals, emergency services, fire and police. When horrible things like this happen they really make you think about your life and put things in perspective. Especially when you read about the actual people who will never go back to their loved ones. As someone who flies a lot for my "job" this is scary on so many levels. The fact that my "job" is pedaling a chunk of carbon fiber around in muddy circles for a living seems kind of pointless after reading about that wonderful young woman who will never row or work in a lab again. My utmost condolences to Admi, PK, and any others I'm forgetting.
Thanks Tree for giving me some perspective. I was feeling a little down last night after getting pipped at the line. Everyone has their role in this world but like you said the real tragedy is everyone on that flight will never get to fill their role. Just a terrible tragedy.I disagree that you have put things in perspective. Not everyone can work in a lab- who would produce whatever they discovered. I have a niece that is starting her studies for her PhD at age 21! Am I proud of her? You bet! Does it diminish what I did or you do? It does only if you do not strive to be the best at what you do.
It is an equal tragedy for the beautiful and brilliant woman above as it is the flight attendants and the young children on board who will never see their potential.
Whoever fired the rocket doubtfully meant to take down an airliner. Ineptness probably played a role in it as I cannot see how anything would be gained by doing so. Anything more I would have to say would be wading into politics and this is not the time or place for that.
Remember live your best. As for your condolences at closing I could not have said it better...

Also I need to take as many steps as possible to avoid a ticking off from Wragg! I'll do my very best to stay upright trust me!I was going to give you a ticking off but Tree's expressed it more eloquently than I ever could.
But for God's sake be safe on that bike tonight....yes, live every day as if it was your last...but take as many steps as possible to be sure that it isn't.

I think that's lost cause......but take as many steps as possible to be sure that it isn't.

This would include Judge Admi's court and Tree...

That is so inspirational! We have several athletes on our team who compete in the para divisions and they are some of the strongest and most amazing women I know. Alot of them have competed or are trying to get on the paraolympic team and are amazing athletes period. I'm so proud to be part of a team that supports women like this! (and also junior development and women's cycling in general of course!) I hope she brings home the gold! I know she will make Scotland proud!
living not far from Lockerbie, it has for me the terrible feeling of history repeating itself.
It's no sort of consolation for the dreadful sense of loss,
but here's a story that raised my spirits - this report is from 2012,
but we heard today that Samantha's going to take part in the Commonwealth Games

We have a day of National mourning tomorrow
154 dutch victims in the (shot?) airplane from Malaysian Airlines
