Though I heard about it earlier today, thanks to Admi for telling me more. Really sad and shocking news today. As professional cyclists, we all know and understand the risks that we take to pursue our dreams. When someone's dream is as cruelly taken away as her's was though, it's always a tragedy. I did not know her except for competing in some of the same cyclocross races. I do know that she was a great competitor and her presence will be missed greatly. Condolences to all.

This is my favorite one! Normal people might think she is having a horrible day, but I know she was feeling great! It's always a good day when you can play in the mud wearing your nation's colors!:D I like to think that is what she is doing now and forever.:(

Joan Rivers
Joan Alexandra Rosenberg[2] (née Molinsky; June 8, 1933 – September 4, 2014), known by her stage name Joan Rivers, was an American actress, comedian, writer, producer, and television host, best known for her stand-up comedy, for co-hosting the E! celebrity fashion show Fashion Police, and for starring in the reality series Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? alongside her daughter Melissa Rivers.
Rivers first came to prominence in 1965 as a guest on The Tonight Show, a pioneering late-night program with interviews and comedy, hosted by Johnny Carson, whom she acknowledges as her mentor. The show established her particular comic style, poking fun at celebrities, but also at herself, often joking about her extensive plastic surgery. When she launched a rival program, The Late Show, he never spoke to her again. She went on to host a successful daytime slot, The Joan Rivers Show, which won her a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show Host. Her satirical style of humor, however, by focusing on the personal lives of celebrities and public figures, was sometimes criticized. She also authored 12 best-selling memoir and humor books, and provided comic material for stage and television.

On September 4, 2014, Rivers died following serious complications—including cardiac arrest—that arose during throat surgery at a clinic on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Reports of a pair of deer hanging out on the Golden Gate Bridge Friday evening sent social media abuzz in the Bay Area. - NBC Bay Area

California Highway Patrol officers were called to the bridge, but the deer were already gone by the time they got there. Twitter users reported that traffic stopped moving momentarily, but was soon flowing normally again.

More on the deer. The video at the top doesn't play, but the one at the bottom of the page does.
I don't know what the big deal is. They obviously went into town for some sight-seeing & were headed home to Sausalito.:D

That pic is classic!:p Am I the only one who wishes they could just skip over Charles?:eek::rolleyes: He looks just as old as Prince Philip and just seems so stuffy. Even more than the Queen. (who I always have though is just awesome! She's so classy but has a spunky edge to her that has only gotten better with age :D) I think the world is ready for a modern young couple like William and Kate.:)

Well Philip fought for his adoptive country in the Royal Navy. As for Charles, I may not agree with all his views but actually I appreciate that he expresses them and does not simply toe the Government line on everything...someone needs to remind the Chinese that human rights abuses are uncool. I actually think he would make a good King given the chance.

Oh yes I agree with you. I was just joking of course about skipping him.:D From what I understand the royal succession is taken somewhat seriously....:p
