The original size photo is uploaded to the site ;-) Just showing the thumbs. It will be the original size if you click on it! (there is no difference for the owner of the resource)

Not right, Falco. The Member click on one site. This site rising on the screen with thumbnails (fast). The member wanted not look the images and going further to the next.
Only a few bytes traffic for the owner.

Full size pages loading slower and all the MB must broadcasted for view the page.
 
The original photo is still loading somewhere, regardless of viewing. It is traffic and a problem for the user rather. But it seems that they came here just for this ... Okay, I will not argue.

The other issue is that we want to keep the full sized images reserved for site members. If you upload full sized images you don't need to be logged in to view them.

A lot of experience, ~8 years as a victim :). I will show photos from different actions. Our actions is not for photo usually. It is extreme games. I am tied to a cross in a deserted place, then drive away and leave me for 2-3 hours alone. The loneliness, the inability to untie and the inability to use "stop-words" help me to hold out this time.

It is very difficult to spend 2-3 hours on the cross. Many people begin to regret very much about what they started in 10-15 minutes. If the crucifixion is done non-fantastic-style :) , but for the real - when only ropes are the support for the legs and there is no possibility to hold the rope with a hand... Most people will refuse such an experiment by making a test suspension for a few minutes ;-)

That makes it even more exciting, tbh... by the time I'm ready to beg to come down everyone would have already left...
