in reality the smoke that comes out of a red-hot iron is much less intense, this it's almost like a "fireplace" smoke but it's a poetic license that I've always liked to give more heat to the red-hot iron! even a candle makes less smoke, but it is a symbol of warmth that I can't give up... after all, we don't have to be realistic, we have to convey cruel images, right?
