I look forward to seeing the cruel execution of this thief. It will undoubtedly be quite a spectacle.
Excellent work maumau59.
The ritual execution of the Wheel was one of the most atrocious and terrible in the Middle Ages… I will try not to disappoint expectations!
(and this terrible execution is carried out on a -substantially- innocent woman… you will see what will happen to the sisters, the real thieves!)

CATHERINE'S LAST STEPS

Catherine was brutally revived by burning the already battered sole of her foot. A ladder was placed against the cart and the woman was dragged off the cart, while blood flowed from her right wrist, now devoid of a hand. That hand would soon be food for the dogs. Catherine, exhausted by so much torture and so many hours of torture, was semi-conscious, her gaze empty and clouded by tears. Her breathing was labored, and her breasts, full of sores and burns, rose and fell rapidly. It was terror that made her breathe like that. Gaspard and Bruno held her firmly and forced her to approach the execution platform. Justine had arrived behind, whispering to the condemned woman: “Sweet Catherine, everything you have felt so far is nothing compared to the torture that awaits you.” The condemned woman could only say: “Please kill me,” and Justine, smiling at her, said: “You will surely die, slowly and atrociously… but you will be able to enjoy the pleasure of the pain that the iron rod will inflict on you, breaking your bones… have fun, little whore.”

As always absolutely exciting! Although I'm a little worried. In my experience women who lost a main part of their body - like a hand - don't last very long anymore. Maybe there's something to put my mind at ease, Maumau...?

THE WHEEL

As Catherine approached the place of her execution, supported by Gaspard and Bruno, forcefully directed towards the steps that led to a stage, her tearful eyes saw the spectacle prepared for her death in torment. That circular space, fenced and raised, was a kind of "square" within the market square, it was the place of public executions, and only for that it served. Since Catherine had been condemned to the Wheel, this is what she saw: on one side a kind of large cross, in the shape of an X, tilted and supported by a pole. On each arm of this cross were nailed large protruding pieces of wood, on which the executioner would break her arms and legs. On the opposite side a large wheel was clearly visible, the one on which she would be tied, twisted, at the end of the torture. On the ground there was a long and thick iron bar, a whip, a large knife, a bucket probably full of water, while in the background, beyond the cross, a lit brazier full of torture instruments gave off smoke. In addition to breaking bones, they would also have used red-hot irons to prolong the suffering. On the ground there were also many ropes, which would have immobilized her on the cross, in her last journey into the kingdom of pain. The public was arranged on one side and made impatient noises, while on the other side, sitting on two kinds of thrones, the Counts were present to witness the punishment of the woman, the thief. Next to the seated Counts there were two armed soldiers standing. Catherine understood only in that moment, seeing all this, that her death would be atrocious. She could only hope to die soon, but unfortunately for her those were not the plans of her torturers…

in fact for Catherine the end is near, always considering that the torture of the wheel lasted hours and maybe even days... but she will certainly die… and Catherine is not a main character…:devil-king:

We can't wait to see her strapped to the X-cross... :smilie-devil:

I see a torture party in our future. :devil2:

I see a torture party in our future. :devil2:

Oh yes! all the girls (Catherine first, then Berta and Bice) will get what they deserve, obviously for what was expected for their crimes in those distant times.... but there will be no mercy for anyone…

THE PREPARATION

Catherine, crying and staggering, supported by Bruno and Gaspard and tightly controlled by Justine, was then taken up to the place of her torture, amid the screams and insults of the people who were waiting to witness the massacre of that poor woman. The Counts watched the scene with disinterest, holding hands. Then the condemned woman was taken to the large X-shaped cross and there Gaspard and Bruno began to tie her tightly. Bruno then picked up the iron bar from the ground and said aloud, with his deep and terrible voice “Do you see this bar? With this I will break every bone in your body, and I will hit you on your tits too. He instead - and he pointed to his partner Gaspard who was giggling - will torment you with red-hot irons. You will die slowly and in pain, as your crime requires”
Catherine repeated “no… no… no…” but what had to be done was about to begin…

THE IRON BAR

Catherine was so fragile, so obscenely exposed to the shame of the public gaze, to the insults. She was half naked, with her loincloth full of blood and excrement, tightly tied to the cross, with her arms and legs open in an X, resting on pieces of wood that would act as supports for the fractures she would have to suffer. In addition, her back was painfully supported by the tip of the pole that held the structure of the cross tilted. The first blow of the iron bar that Bruno inflicted on her was naturally on her right arm, just below the stump. It broke her forearm, causing the bones to come out, while where her hand had been, blood continued to flow. Catherine let out a terrible scream, she had not expected such intense pain. Gaspard meanwhile, on the opposite side, had resumed torturing Catherine's breasts with red-hot pincers full of spikes. The pain was unbearable, and that was the meaning of punishment for those who committed or helped to commit thefts: to die slowly in unspeakable pain. Justine, at the center of the stage, incited her assistants to be more cruel, while the audience applauded and the Counts watched with satisfaction the capital execution…

Always exciting just to imagine the horror the delinquent must have felt at first sight of the execution side prepared just for their torment.

How about cauterizing the wound by fire or by poring molten lead onto it?
Was done frequently to prevent the victim expiring too early so that the delinquent was able to live through all the different stages of the punishment

the molten lead seems a bit excessive to me, especially in a public execution, but I had also thought about the red-hot irons to cauterize the amputation wound of the right hand.... but then I said to myself: the woman will have many bones broken, she will be burned with red-hot irons, she will be beaten with a club on her breasts and probably on her belly, she will be tied twisted to the wheel and her belly will be cut open so that the birds can feed on her entrails (and probably her eyes)... maybe it can be enough as torture… poor Catherine

SCREAMS AND BROKEN BONES

Catherine’s torture continued for many hours, always under the watchful eye of Countess Charlotte and her husband the Count. The poor woman’s screams were more and more like animal howls, they had almost nothing human about them. The noise of each blow was that of bones shattering, breaking under the fury of the force that Bruno applied to the iron bar. Her arms and legs were broken in several places, her knees, her pelvis, her shoulders, the backs of her feet, and as promised, her breasts were also crushed with multiple blows, reduced to a bloody pulp. In the meantime, Gaspard continued incessantly to burn the few parts of the condemned woman’s body that had not yet been burned, and even those that had already been burned. Her nipples were torn off with red-hot pincers. Justine, who was watching Catherine’s massacre with a smile, touched her face with a bullwhip she had, whispering softly, “They’ll stop hitting you soon, bitch, don’t worry. Then we will tied you on the wheel but maybe you will like a few whiplash on your many wounds…”

Considering what's happening to her, the girl is doing just fine! Let's hope she'll last a few more tortures... :hambre:
