If I remember correctly, the artist was Mal. He was quite skilled with creating photo manips like that and posted many of them on The Dark Spot (original version). But, he quit posting quite a few years ago.

This is by Gottfried Sieben ("Archibald Smith") who created the notorious Balkangruel sequence (available in hi res on Wikipedia). This is one of a pair of original works which were sold unattributed at auction and went for a tiny sum!

Perhaps this one is a little better, with legend and signatures. According to the chronicles, Brunehaut was carried naked on the back of a camel (!) before being tied to the tail of a wild horse to be torn apart on rocky paths.
