Superb set. We'll never know if she was naked or no ?
Indeed, we don't know. However, the chronicles report that King Clotaire II gave her over to his soldiers for 3 days. It's hard to believe that they left her with a lot of clothes...

It's also worth noting that many narratives from the Middle Ages show her being quartered and not dragged by a wild horse. This method was indeed common during the Merovingian period.

Number 4 is the only one to accurately portray her as an older woman. Brunhilda of Austrasia was 69 or 70 when she was executed.
And, lastly, it was mainly in the 19th century that she was given a younger look in depictions. To our great satisfaction?

I see a lot of breast amputations in these photos (#4). Are they all depictions of the martyrdom of St. Agatha?
Eulalia is the best connoisseur of martyrdoms. Seems Agatha lost her tits in all the pics, most of the time with breastrippers
In this image, it's supposed to be Saint Eulalia (written Eulalye) both times. Even if the first does indeed evoke Saint Agatha and the second Saint Agnes with her very long hair. Saint Eulalia is best known for having been crucified on an X-shaped cross:
