The 4th one (meyer-heine1) is a picture of the branding of Jeanne de la Motte, the infamous crook and main protagonist of the affair of the necklace. I tried to find direct testimonies of her punishment, but I couldn't find any. There's a vivid account of her ordeal in a book published in 1901 (the writer is a certain Mr Funck-Brentano, who contributed to renewed interest in this famous case).
