Limerick - a genre of poetic expression regularly applied and eminently mangled on CF by readers, to capture in verse various perilous situations in a story
Linkie - a young Scots lassie who's properly brought up and trained for her part in the traditional Linkie-Hunt through the Northern Forest, she's canny and skilful at dodging and weaving through the wilds, giving the hunters a good run, but she's also well able to cope with all that happens to her when she does, sooner or later, get caught. Loathometer - a useful device invented by Wragg to express extreme loathing for bad actors found in CF stories.
Loincloth - Piece of cloth, preferably dirty, worn around the loins, often as the only "clothing" the condemned is allowed to wear underway to the cross. A last remnant of modesty, intended to be torn away, just before or just after crucifixion.
'Madame Wu'- an imported type off cigarette. that may cause relaxation or a laissez-faire attitude. May cause unsuspecting women, especially from blue states, not to care what Tree might do to them...

Makar (Mkr) - CF co-founder and renowned crucifyer of females (including Alice). RIP.
Mod - abbr. for moderator - a harmless drudge who scuttles around the Forums trying in the face of impossible odds to keep some semblance of order in the merry hell of chaos that accompanies the craziness of Crux.
Moore (family name) - an ancient lineage of direct or sideward ancestry pertaining to Barbaria. Known under different variations (e.g. Moria, Mohr, Moora,…), the female scions of the family always seem to have been present at important moments in history, playing crucial (il-fated and erotic) roles.
Mustang - T. H. Tree's favourite brand of muscle car. Frequently in need of repair after Barbaria has “borrowed” it.
NailusMartyrs - official CF online/mail order purveyor of dungeon equipment, blue state brides, premium French wood’ crucifixion cross construction materials, designer loincloths, etc.
Nails - the preferred means of affixing the crucified to his or her cross. Tree has been known to go off and spend time sharpening them when frustrated or thwarted.
Naked - nude, undressed. Most CF slave girls usually are, or if they’re not soon will be.
Northern Forest - A dark, unexplored, and mysterious place, where elves, faeries, and a mysterious figure by the name of Eulalia do dwell. Caution: few who enter ever emerge.
Patibulum (pl. patibula) - The bit of a cross that is fitted horizontally to the “stipes” (see also). In theory you're meant to lug the bloody thing from jail to the execution ground, barefoot and seriously underdressed, while being thrashed to within an inch of your life.
“Oh Shit!” - CruxForums officially sanctioned statement of despair, useable by any Cruxgirl who suddenly finds that things are not at all going as anticipated and that she is in imminent peril. Often preceded by "Strip", "bend over", "grab your ankles" "you`re getting another dozen" or something similar.
Pau de Arara, Parrot Perch - a simple support for a naked Torture subject, comprising a horizontal bar on which the victim hangs with the bar under the backs of her knees, her wrists bound in front of her lower legs, while beatings, electrical tortures, etc. are applied.
Pilum - main weapon of the Roman legionaries a kind of spear or javelin which is bigger at the hand position and has a long flexible spike, which hinders the enemy that it is removed when entered a shiled. Due to its form it is a perverse symbol of a dildo, however not used many times in stories that way.
Pirate Cay - A Caribbean island in the very accommodating nation of Providencia that is owned by a mysterious billionaire who is alleged to lure unsuspecting and broke female university students there to serve as "companions".
Posca - Roman beverage, mixture of water, low quality wine and vinegar, sometimes with spices added. Posca was often given to the crucified to drink either to quench their thirst (and prolonging their agony) and/or (using appropriate spices) to soften the pain. It was usually administered to the crucified with a sponge on a pilum (see also).
Praefectus Praetorius - A prolific CF storyteller sadly departed. RIP
Priya, Narayan (later Raman) - a visitor to Trabbia (see also) as a pre-med student who ended up in some serious trouble with the law. Later, as a doctor back in the US, she took a job in a female corporal punishment facility. She knows both ends of the cane extremely well.
Racing Rodent - furry and cute (see also squirrel).
Rags - Shabby, torn and preferably dirty clothing, worn over the loincloth (see also) by slaves, or occasionally by condemned on the way to the cross.
Random Picture thread - where CFers go daily to check on the latest posted batch of amazingly interesting photographs.
Real Life (RL) - the boring parallel universe to CF which unfortunately sometimes draws away too much of CF members’ precious time.
Red bikini - “worn” in the form of vivid red marks on the bare body of a female who's been subjected to a whipping or other forms of chastisement and torture on the favoured female parts.
Red Lion - the preferred watering hole and meeting place for CFers when in London. For directions to the pub see Bobinder.
Resurrection (from crucifixion) - in RL only the privilege of self-declared divine creatures, but on CF it happens all the time; readily available to all members for enjoying their fantasies.
Riesling - the wine most likely to disappear mysteriously from the Cruxton Abbey wine cellar. Also Barbaria’s preferred drink (limit 2 glasses)
Righteous - what Apostate calls a nice female ass.
Safety - never try at home the fantasies you read about on CruxForums.
Seagram's - T. H. Tree's favourite whiskey brand.
Sedile (pl. sedilia) - Latin for 'a seat', but an uncomfortable one. A piece of wood or metal that the crucified can rest their crotch on, but only to get minimal relief for aching limbs, and actually prolonging the agony. May be combined with a cornu (see cornu).
Sexpionage - Fossy’s long running, true chronicle of global Mi6 operations, in which beautiful female agents and their dashing male counterparts take on some incredibly perilous situations featuring some of the meanest bad guys imaginable.
Skin and a piece of rope - all that is required, according to Apostate (see), for a subservient female to be prepared to provide exquisite service with her open mouth. See also 'Swallow'.
Snow shoveling - CruxGirls, and especially those hailing from Blue States, are expected to do it in the nude.
Sponge - those crucified on the cross are often given to drink, using a sponge drenched in a beverage, either posca (see there), or water, or any kind of liquid. Accounts of Riesling (see also) given to crucified are disputed). Attached to a spear, the sponge is then brought to the condemned's mouth, leaving, of course, much of the liquid slopped on the crucified's chin and chest.

Ssnatzburg, Republic of - small nation-state of impossible to pin-down whereabouts; Not known for much other than its enthusiasm for practicing corporal punishment in its judicial system. Not a recommended tourist destination.
Stipes (pl.stipites) - The bit of a cross that sticks up out of the ground (see also patibulum).
Swallow — the ultimate act of submission required of a true slavegirl when pleasuring her Master with her lips and tongue, though a certain rebellious female steadfastly refuses to perform this.
Syndicate, The - Secret international organisation, henchmen and executers of dirty jobs for dictators. Barbara Moore’s nemesis in several stories.
Tight little - Barbaria’s ass. Not too large, but nicely rounded and well formed. "Big" does not enter into it. "Round" is required. See also "Righteous".
Titulus (pl. tituli) - sign attached to the cross, stating the name and the crime(s) of the condemned.
Trabbia - A fictional Southeast Asian country where judicial corporal punishment is administered to females as well as males (in the spirit of fairness and non-gender bias).
Treehouse - Missouri residence of T.H. Tree, there’s a coffee house nearby, also the site of the infamous Hill of 100 Crosses beyond which lies a pit containing the bones of many a martyred CruxForums slave rebel. See also “Great Slave Rebellion”.
Tumescence: A scientifically observed phenomenon, which happens to Barb's nipples a LOT.
Universal Erection, University of - an all-male school only a few miles away the University of the Virgin Martyrs (see also).
Via Appia : Roman road, favored site for a group/mass crucifixion.
Via Crucis — “Way of the Cross', the walk of shame taken by those condemned to be crucified, carrying their crosses, or at least the cross-bars (patibula), whipped along the way, naked or clad in loincloths at the discretion of their Executioners.
Virgin Martyrs, University of - world renown CruxForums institution of higher learning, located somewhere in Missouri, we think. Or is it in a blue state? Who knows? Famous for its grassy quad, located at the very center of campus, upon which at certain times of the academic year wayward coeds along with junior faculty given to overspending their research budgets are stripped naked and paraded about, and then whipped or caned … in some extreme cases even hanged or crucified … before and for the enjoyment of the institution’s assembled student body and learned faculty
Wayward : a rebellious attitude of a daughter towards her usually wealthy, well meaning, empathic, caring and generous father. Always ends up into trouble.
Weather - in CF tradition, crucifixions preferably should take place during ‘ideal’ crucifixion weather, generally a warm and sunny summer day followed by a mild night (it should be fun, after all).
Wragg - aristocratic English family name spawning a long line of landlords and archbishops residing in Cruxton Abbey (see also). Trustful keepers of good social order and justice, but prone to occasional descents into debauchery.
Zilawe - A fictional African country where, Meghan Shanahan, a young American aide worker, got into trouble for a tweet about the President. Barbara Moore went to report on the situation and, it goes without saying, got into trouble as well.
