An interesting new take on the well-known painting by Gérôme:
The artist is Iraqi, Sundus Abdul Hadi. He's making a serious point,
drawing attention to another grim aspect of the massive human tragedy
going on in his part of the world - one we don't get to hear about
amid all the commotion about 'migrants' -
girls from families fleeing from the fighting
ending up in brothels in Baghdad (and other cities),
often sold to pimps by their destitute parents.
They dodge the bullets and bombs, they get away from the clutches of ISIS,
but that's where they end up!
