There is a difference between a clean and sexy looking skimpy tunic, and dirty rags. But both have their merits, of course!

You are absolutely right!
I thought this was about rags and torn clothes, so I did choose the examples accordingly.
I do have others with nice little outfits that are not ripped.

But please: my sensitive little historian's soul always has to wince, when each and every garment worn by slaves is called a 'tunic'.
A tunic is a very simple but very specific garment. And up to now I haven't seen any of it here.

Since you seem to know, is there a different name for something that uses the same sized fabric as the loincloth but worn as a skirt? Asking for a friend!
