That would be Riesling Eiswein - made from grapes that have been frosted - intensely sweet, very delicious (and expensive) - definitely right for Barbaria!

Thoughtful engineering from Arcas... most of subject remains dry and accessible for other activity while subject is forced to experience terror of drowning. Also, since it uses a smaller tank, it takes less time to fill...

@wulf: #1 is a cropped version of one of my old Inquisition pics. The fifth pic in ducon's post is also one of mine and one of the earliest artworks I ever posted ...and I agree that this is the best form of water torture.

Certainly, yes. One of the next pics in the Waldensian crusade series will feature a traditional water torture.
