Thanks for the answer, that is why I ask, I try to reformulate (and I will put the anonymous answers on, so no one has to state his sexual orientation) so it is more understandable. I remarked, that looking at the answers, the mindset, as compared to the roman time has changed drastically, or probably changed in the time after the Romans and then again now. That I try to understand... Name it gayfriendly, then old Greece would be, Romans probably, somewhere in the medical times that changed and is now back. The problem with crucifixion then is its sexual or humiliating aspect. But there is a problem: Why would one look at dying nude males? And that is why we see here so many innocent(!) nude females.

I guess that part of the humiliation is an "outing", but generally speaking if destroying the asshole become a hobby of all, including heterosexual males then that punishment becomes useless.
