The union has ruined everything at the women's penitentiary. It used to be the condemned women would be hanged the Saturday after they arrived at the prison. Then the United Brotherhood of Correctional Guards came along and insisted the women would be executed the first Saturday of each season. So one a glorious Saturday afternoon in late June, eight condemned prisoners are brought out to the prison's gallows to be executed.
They are very cooperative as they wait their turn to be hanged. They are very orderly as they climb the steps where their arms will be bound behind their backs and the noose will be placed around their necks and are then hanged. After all it is a pleasant summer day which beats getting hanged naked on a cold December day. Tree wonders how they will behave after the trap is opened and the first woman drops less than a meter and slowly strangles to death...
