Actually the commander intervened against using the barbed scourge, instead they used a split cane. Even then it was bad enough.
The lictors were sorry they couldn't have fun with the barbed scourge.

AI can use a drawing and make an improved version of it except the hands and feet, i choose a realistic output but it can also do other style:

I was actually working on a AI project with an image used as guide , i just had changed the picture for the @mp5stab drawing and the AI did the rest
But the custom made Lora used to create my latest AI crux scene did take a whole evening to assemble the images and the description.
AI can do amazing output with a simple drawing.

So do I. (A word of advice: never pay attention to what artists think of their work, especially for their early work. They are the most unsuitable for this job.)
Wow! Great AI-improved pic. Early in her crucifixion before exhaustion makes it too difficult to push up like she is doing.

Well, you could come rather close, but yes, material, length and whole geometry as well as the chosen hole must be aplied individualy. Due to gender equality I guess only one hole remains, but there seems also be more space for longer and bigger cornus, which is good for the audience.Both look decidely uncomfortable... not that I have the anatomy to decide

Personally I like @jucundus version. I was so absorbed with the idea of ivory and the way to construct a cornu as depicted by quoom, I didn't think about the way @jucundus did, which is much simpler and more natural looking.Compare and contrast:
