"Helpless... trapped... stretched to the edge of human endurance. This is what is feels like when the nails go in? I have killed people this way before, they screamed and cried and thrashed, and I didn't think anything of it. People cried out when they stubbed their toe. But now naked to the beating sun, my only coat a coat of blood, with three burning spikes impaling me to a wooden cross, I understand pain. I can't take my mind off of it. I can only embrace the pain and wait for the release of death.

(Writing is not my strong suit, but I felt compelled to add something. Breathtaking work, SJ, you've really outdone yourself.)"

Thank you, mp5stab!
Great to see you back here SJ!

I like the photo with Emily. She has a wonderful body, so wonderful hair and so a wonderful face. And you see that she is suffering at the cross. Please bring more from her!

What a glorious image! You depict Emily just as she's pushing up with her legs after hanging from her arms for as long a she can endure. She's desperate to draw deep lungfuls of air, despite the horrible agony such a motion entails. Next, she'll push up a little further and then bow her back out, extending her chest and quivering breasts skyward, only to drop back down and hang again from her arms...over and over again!!!

Love the detail of her right heel which appears to be supported by the foot piece.

Wow!!!! I want to be Emily!!!

I'm always interested in the other girls shown further in the distance in your pictues. Would love to see the two ladies hanging behind Emily in clearer focus.:D

Just fantastic, awesome, utterly realistic art SJ! As always, it's an emotional knockout punch to study your art.;):D

Well you're still amazing at it. There is something so exposed and vulnerable about this one.

Two other pictures of this series, the others later!

I tried some postwork, as usually, I never do postwork.
The 005 is in original conditions, and I added a BW contrast filter for the 007b.

Tell me your opinion about that!

Both pics are awesome SJ!

The BW contrast filter provided incredible detail to 007b. It's grim, and awful, and magnificent! I love it! A beautiful depiction of the poor girl hanging exhausted after hours of relentless struggle. The anatomical detail and muscle definition is superb!!! It's like being there, looking up at her...wow!!!

One of the most gripping crux images I've ever seen...perhaps the best. This is what I'd want for myself...:D

I almost expect to see Emily's eyes flutter open, and her parched lips whisper..."Roxie, you should have stayed away. Now they'll get you too!"

"Emily, my love, how could I stay away! I don't care if they get me...I'll gladly die next you. Without you I have nothing..."

I love these. Looks like day two and three. Personally though, for crux, I think it's always important to show the feet. Gives more context to what her upper body is doing, even if we know.

Yes, both are very fine, but #1 has the posture of a girl standing on a firm surface,
not hanging on a cross, #2 with her straight, stretched arms
and slightly angled thighs, is more effective in that respect
(at least her feet could be nailed, and/or only supported by a minimal, angled footrest),
as well as being hauntingly atmospheric,
a real sense of life ebbing away.

Oh my goddess Roxie, you are reading my mind again!

That last picture, SJ. It is so stark. So strong. I close my eyes and I feel myself there with her.............

My opinion, (not that it's worth diddly-squat) is that they are both truly, gut-wrenchingly perfect SJ!

But Roxie says it SO much better!

First, wonderful. 007B is an instant classic, one for my special folder :) You have got so many things right. Her pose, her expression, her body . . . . . . sorry, was I saying something then? Oh yeah, that's right, wonderful work!
Notice the nails holding the beams of the cross together. The heads stick out from the wood, if she holds her head up they will probably dig into her - so cruel, is it thoughtlessness of the executioners or deliberate I wonder?

How did you do the post work? My one question is whether the scars are not quite blended enough with the body, they stand out just a touch to my eye. Maybe an adjustment of the opacity setting? That's just me, others may disagree.
I think the additional post work really raises the image with that additional detail and filtering. Great stuff SJ!
