Exactly, this IS a question! However in my Passion Plays it is only more obvious and unavoidable question, but it isn't a new one. I often wondered what the young adult children of many famous actresses and models must think, while, watching the old movies with their friends, they unintentionally came across their mother, making sex or being sexually humiliated and obscene tortured on a screen.My fav ordeal..

Right concerns. But I always think, this fantasy world is a parallel universe, where such acts are thought somewhat differently about.I wondered how could she live on the public after that, the world saw her everything in live broadcast.

There are too many questions in my mind now.
Maybe she has done it for devotional reasons, to get closer to her saviour? To pass the message on, an evangelistic sacrifice, almost a martyrdom for her faith? Maybe she has internalised it that way.
Or she is just a massive exhibitionist hiding her kink behind her devotion.

That is one hell of a magic trick in panels 2,3 and 4. He pulled her dress off in one piece without untying her hands.

The first and the last scene involving Yvonne, perfectly showing the metamorphosis of the character she reenacted.
Still #1: at the Pilatus court she was still a proud Queen and she looked at him and at all the Romans down her nose.
Still #2: few hours later, at Golgotha hill, the naked, massacred corpse of a disobedient barbarian slut was removed from the cross.
Yvonne performed her role with devotion, being proud that she could suffer the same fate as her Master. Although she felt she wasn't pure and saint enough to perform a role of the God's Son or Daughter. But next year, she thought, maybe she can play a role of one of the criminals, crucified together with the Messiah...?

...and a few more tricks, for example she has her hands tied behind her back, then she covered her face with palms and then again she has her hands tied while kneeling on the cross... And the left foot hammered over the right one and half an hour later the right one over the left one are pretty common.That is one hell of a magic trick in panels 2,3 and 4. He pulled her dress off in one piece without untying her hands.
As usual, I sketched the separate sketches and only later I put them in the sequence. Sorry for all these faults!

I wasn't being critical. Its just that the way he's holding it up in panel 4 made me think he was saying, "Ta-da" and waiting for the applause.

And so the next year Yvonne played the bad thief...
...together with two other volunteers, acting as the good thief...
...and the Messiah himself.
The role of the both thieves was even more demanding: they were hanged together with the Messiah, mercilessly nailed to their crosses, but they were treated as an air comparing to Him, although their nakedness and suffering was watched, mocked, filmed and humiliated - but even the spectators collected on the square and at the TV receivers treated them as real criminals. Especially they had no mercy for the "guilty" actress, playing the bad thief, getting what she deserved, while being merciful for the "innocent" Messiah and the "converted" good thief and sympathising with them. And all the media comments were focused on the Messiah person and all the glory and fame was to the Messiah reenactor of course. Nobody noticed that the "thieves" had to hang few minutes longer, before the Messiah was "stabbed" with a rubber "spear" and taken from the cross. The legs of the two were "broken" with a plastic "rod" but they must wait their turn. The "dead" good thief was taken down her cross as the next one and "thrown to the stray dogs" (after the quick dressing her wounds) and only after that they finally laid down the third cross and removed the nails from Yvonne's "corpse", so her suffering on the cross lasted the longest. In addition, for the last few minutes she had to pretend being dead, breathing so slow and silent as possible, and keeping from weeping and moaning which was not easy task to fulfill. No one noticed, too, that her legs were nailed slightly too high, and her knees were bent more than her companions, so she must mostly hang limply on the wrists, unable to straighten her legs, so she was writhing, groaning and crying more than the good thief, not mention the Messiah, whose nails were hammered very precisely and carefully. But, as we have mentioned above, the visible signs of her terrible suffering aroused only contempt and satisfaction.

...and most of the viewers thought that Yvonne is only pretending such horrific suffering, as a good actress should do, so there is nothing to feel pity for. They watched her with simple curiosity or indifference. They supposed her she had been stuffed with analgetics before the "execution", which wasn't true - the staff simply forgot to give a "posca" with additional painkillers to the thieves, so none save the Messiah drunk the analgetics cocktail, which helped the main actress with securing her dignity and mastering the pain during the nailing. The thieves - and especially Yvonne - went crazy with pain when being nailed, and later she was dancing her dance of death all the time while hanging on her cross, unlike her companions. And many of the Christian believers were disgusted seeing Yvonne spreading so "easily" and "unnecssarily" her legs or stuck out her labia, breasts or buttocks in pain, considering her pain being only simulated and her personally a shameless whore.

Anna, age of 34, died in Jerusalem, 20 B.C.
The mutineers chief was crucified together with his companion and with the lover of his companion, accidentally arrested together with them. The men were sentenced to death, and the woman was added to the condemned without blenching. They were crucified - to deter the zealots with the cruelty of their death. Anna, as a female, was stripped naked before nailing, so this day she died as the only woman between the men and the only full nude victim between the clothed companion, dying with shame, but at least she could be sure that all the eyes of the crowd gathered on the hill were focused on her.
This is the price of fame!
