No, I am not from Italy. It is a Latin 'Via'. The Via Appia refers to the Ancient Roman road from Rome to Brindisi, along which thousands of slaves have been crucified in 73 BC, after the defeat the Spartacus rebellion. An event that the organizers of the Wolfram Festival had tried to recreate.
