Great to have you back, Andy! Great batch of drawings that are white hot. I LOVE them all but am particularly fond of Number 1--the guard lewdly fondling the condemned girl's naked ass as he leads her to her death punched some of my buttons. That small act must have made her feel totally helpless...and totally hopeless. I may try to do an emulation of it if I have time. It is funny that both you and I chose to return to the site with new works after a few months absence on the was very same day. Perhaps it was because it was the first day of Spring....Jastrow

Hi Andyman, great drawings. What I like about your stuff is that your victims are so realistic. You bring out the fact that everybody had to fear crucifixion.
In this series I enyoy the 4th picture a lot. The soldiers are still working on the crucified, and the spectators are obviously very well entertained. The victim on the other hand will face hell...........

And one more time few the little review of the historical sources. The images are well known to all of you and the text are mostly downloaded from somewhere too, but I am still and still fascinated with the horrific cruelty of the composition made of the two logs and few nails.

Familiar images, but I love the way you have used them. The combination of images and contemporary records is really effective, and reminds us that female crucifixion really was a thing.

Manipulating art works is a skill and a pleasure, welcome to the club Andyman!
Here are two old manips by me based on that painting, I couldn't decide which one I preferred.

Great artworks Andyman! Nice you're back, always liked your sketches and classic manips.
Agree with MR. @phlebas, making manips from classic artworks is something wonderful, and you've done them well.
Here's for example @Yupar 's amazing manip, she made it with my pic of Vivian don't know who is the author of original painting, but it's classic artwork I'm sure.

MR. Phlebas's works above is pure classic indeed. MR. @madiosi also made great classic manips from old classic paintnings I think this theme is most important for Crux Art. Keep on making your nice arts!

Welcome back! Keep putting naked women on crosses with cornus in their asses (a bonus if they are facing the cross!) and you’ll never go wrong.

"The revolt begun in 73 BC, with escape of around 70 slave-gladiators from a gladiator school in Capua. Within two years, they had been joined by some 120.000 men, women and children... The war ended in 71 BC when the armies of Spartacus launched their full strength against Crassus' legions and were utterly defeated. Pompey's legions moving from the north were able to capture some 5.000 rebels fleeing the battle, all of whom he slew. Some 6.000 survivors were captured by the legions of Crassus. All 6.000 were crucified along the Appian Way..."
