Erotic helplessness : a study of the history of the Damsel in Distress theme in art

Carl Gustav Krehl, Andromeda, 1888. Perseus has not yet arrived to spoil the fun...
A really beautiful painting of a beautiful girl. Dramatic how her face is in the shadows, with her eyes gleaming with tears. Too bad it's somewhat censored and she decently has no pubic hair.

Thankfully, contemporary Japanese artist Kiyoaki Kanai knew no such censorship with this ravishing portrait of a female martyr...

The dragon copulating with Andromeda. That would be a work of art... Would be censored here too though ;)
That would be an amazing sight, yes. Not sure if it would be censored here. We've seen so much worse already. :)

Hi all,
I apologize for this post, but I will be discontinuing my daily posts on this thread. Over the last week, two of the paintings I shared (Charles Bartlett's Captives in Rome and Konstantin Makovsky's Bulgarian Martyresses) were censored because they contained depictions of children as victims of violence. These are classic paintings, hosted on Wikipedia, and can be found on Google Images using Safe Search (I did the experiment), and I resent being labelled a "child pornographer" because of it. The arbitrary nature of these decisions is all the more perplexing when one realizes that other posts on this same thread were not censored for similar offenses, notably R. Skulbashevsky, Cossack Slave Raid (page 3) or Henri-Désiré Charpentier's Mysteries of the People (page 5). While I recognize the right of the moderators to host what they please on their website (and, believe it or not, I truly am grateful to you for this platform to share BDSM-oriented art), I cannot express myself with a censoring sword of Damocles taking out a post of mine every other day...
It was nice while it lasted. Take care !

I regret your decision. In the past, I myself have been a victim of the strict rules of this forum, due to lack of vigilance on my part. But that didn't stop me from posting! The proof:
"Las Hijas del Cid" (El Cid's daughters), by Ignacio Pinazo i Camarlench (1889).

Beautiful painting ! I guess I was hoping for a bit more open-mindedness on this forum. To enjoy without restraint, once the limits between fantasy and reality are clearly set, is the mark of a free man... Pourquoi être plus royaliste que le roi ?

The mods act to protect this forum, they have to make some difficult choices sometimes.
I resent being labelled a "child pornographer"
Who has called you that? Have you had an abusive private message? As far as I’m aware, nobody thinks that, or is labelling you as anything.
other posts on this same thread were not censored for similar offenses
Everyone’s going to “draw the line” somewhere slightly different. I hope you can accept that this sort of thing happens, it’s not personal (unless you know otherwise), so just shrug it off. You are among friends here and your contribution is valued more than you might realise.
