Erotic helplessness : a study of the history of the Damsel in Distress theme in art

Thank you kindly @melissa ! I realize I might have over-reacted, and did not mean to accuse anyone. I know that you moderators are doing your best to keep this forum safe and free from actual criminal content. I will await the collegial decision of the staff before resuming my posts...
And thanks for your messages @montycrusto and @ducon007 ! I hope I was not being too melodramatic here, and should have probably chosen my words with more caution. I value our exchanges as well :)

To lighten the mood, I leave you to meditate this very French aphorism (Pierre Dac, or Alphonse Allais...?):
"Quand les bornes sont franchies, il n'y a plus de limite..."
"When the boundaries are crossed, there are no more limits..."
Limits are indeed needed, but oh how difficult it is to fix them.
To quote Pascal,
"Plaisante justice qu’une rivière borne ! Vérité au‑deçà des Pyrénées, erreur au‑delà."
"Pleasant justice that a river bounds! Truth before the Pyrenees, error beyond"

As Melissa says, we are discussing it in the staff forum, and I certainly am not accusing you of anything, but when you post images on this site, you are not posting them for our appreciation of fine art... ;)

Not to de-rail the thread or anything… but I’m a great believer in The Erotic Sublime.. and I think there IS the possibility to appreciate a painting as art, and also to enjoy it as erotica at the same time. I think this sincere aspiration, though it may not be widely understood, is the inspiration for this thread, at least, that’s how I see it :)

So, that's eight years long that I erronously think, I am on a literature and fine arts site?

Serious now. It is a dilemma, the rules should be clear about; When posting a historical piece of fine artwork, 'for art's sake', with alledged minors in peril on it, artwork that everybody can watch in a museum, or in art books, should it be banned (the alternative is that the one who posts it, 'censors' it, but that is no sound solution, to my opinion)?

Of course, the line is crossed, when the historical work is deliberately maniped for posting on one of the threads, e.g. some crucified women are added to the scenery. In that case, alledged under age persons should either be made invisible, or the artwork should not be used for the manip.
