The list of the nominees for the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been released. The artists are as follows:
Janet Jackson, N.W.A, Nine Inch Nails, Chicago, the Smiths, Cheap Trick, Chic, Deep Purple, Chaka Khan, Yes, The J.B.'s, Los Lobos, Steve Miller, The Spinners and The Cars. This list will be shortened in December to the six or eight artists to be inducted into the Hall in April. I think that Chicago, Deep Purple, Yes, The Cars, Steve Miller, The Spinners and Cheap Trick should have been inducted years ago. I do not think that the rest of the artists listed should be inducted into the Hall at this time.
Seeing how badly that the Hall has been in the past, I am going to make a bet on what artists will be inducted. They will induct Los Lobos, N.W.A., Janet Jackson, The Smiths, Chic, The Spinners and The J.B.'s.........just saying......check back in December and see that I am probably right.....I know these rats like the back of my hand.

These are the same assholes that waited until Lou Reed was dead before inducting him. It would be a travesty if N.W.A. gets in before Lawrence Welk....

I will prob end up posting in this topic several times I like alot of different things:

Also, not sure how people here feel about religious music, but this guy is far too good of an guitarist to not share, notice that he plans as good as he does despite missing a finger:

Still more of my faves coming at ya:

Lots to listen to there ThatOne. Might not be to Pp's tastes but he will listen to them all.

In the meantime though it is worth noting that, on September 2, 1975, Patti Smith and her band of Lenny Kaye, Richard Sohl, Ivan Kral and Jay Dee Daugherty, along with with producer John Cale, walked into Electric Lady Studio and emerged five weeks later with a classic.

While the album wasn't released until December 13th 1975 it is now 40 years ago that Patti and her band finished recording "Horses".

Like her style or not (and punk isn't to Pp's tastes) she really did influence the development of punk rock.

Story time.

She was doing a book signing tour here in LA, and I went with my lady friend. We are waiting in line, security is a bitch rushing everyone around. My friend who idolizes her gets 10 seconds to get her book signed and then is pushed out. So my turn. I hand her my copy of "Just kids" and the man behind her says "look at his shirt." The man behind her is Flea. I am wearing a Bill Hicks T-Shirt. They both tell me what big fans they are if him and she signs my book "Bill Hicks forever"

Vale Glen Barrie, lead guitarist, As Paradise Falls.

Glen passed away in his sleep while "living his dream" recording with his band at the famed Karma Sound Studios in Thailand.

You might not like the heavy metal music the band played but Glen was an unbelievably talented guitarist and, despite his tattooed appearance, a wonderfully gentle young man, a loving husband and would soon have been a father for the first time.

Glen left a young wife, Cass, and a son he will never see with the baby to be born early in 2016.

He had been an standout rugby flanker and inspirational captain as a junior and, had he followed his rugby with the same passion he played guitar, may have been a Wallaby at the recent World Cup.

As Paradise Falls and a number of kindred spirits played a sold-out benefit gig for Glen last Friday night.

Glen's guitar was displayed in a case, wired and lit up as part of the boys' light show, centre front.
