Of course, her lifestyle ran afoul of the law. She was tried and sentenced to death, to be hanged naked by her neck in the town square. A nice crowd turned out to see her pay for her crimes...

She was tried before Judge Henry "Hanging Harry" Tree. District Attorney Beauregard Tree presented a convincing case that court appointed defense attorney Billy Bob Tree could not counter. It took the juror only half an hour to render a verdict. Twenty minutes of that was picking a foreman and eight minutes was spent deciding what to order for lunch.Two minutes was spent debating how to spell "guilty". The jury consisted of 9 men named Tree and 3 named Root, believed to be cousins of the Trees. At the time was considered to be one of the most fair trails held in the county.

She was cited by the local Arkansas constabulary for reckless and endangering behavior, and ordered by a Judge to pay for all damages, after which she was taken to City Park where she was publicly subjected to a bare-backed flogging of fifty lashes, prior to being stripped totally naked and hanged until dead beneath the outstretched, saber-wielding arm of the statue of local Confederate Civil War hero, General “March to the sound of guns or the local tavern, whichever comes first” Phineas H, Tree.

Ca. 1950 …Blue State tourist, Barb Moore, arrested and strip searched after a rolling stop at a stop sign, was told to sit in the squad car while Arkansas State Highway Patrol officer TH Tree completed the paperwork on her traffic violation ticket. While he was thus preoccupied she picked up the patrol car intercom and tried to call home. Officer Tree promptly added to her citation a misdemeanor citation for illegal use of police property … a major offense in Arkansas for which she was tried, convicted and duly hanged before the day was out.
