The Slaves of Atticus Lucius Tiburcus

She didn’t resist as I pulled her tunic over her head. Behind me came the clang of a hammer and an awful bellow from Emil.

TSOALT 31.jpg

“Please – let me see!”

I shrugged, and moved out of the way. She watched, wearing only her loincloth, as I folded up her tunic and placed it on top of Diana’s clothes, which were close by.

The story is developing into an exciting mass crucifixion. Nice work so far, Wragg!
Dilla looks familiar - I think she (or someone remarkably similar) had a role in 'The Illustrated Chronicle of the Lady Jasmine'...?
And I think I am beginning to understand how this A.I. programme works.

I thought you'd soon recognise some of the poses... :)

Diana had heard the blow and was yelling his name twisting on her cross to see.

Dilla watched the scene of horror before her with wide, terrified eyes.

“Why….?”

“Why what?”

“Lots of whys. Why are you doing this? Why must we be nude? Why is Emil.. excited? Why didn’t you…. do me before Emil?”

Lukas had finished nailing Emil’s right wrist to the beam, and both Emil and Diana were screaming, so conversation with Dilla was challenging. I looked at Diana, and then at the topless Dilla. I wasn’t surprised at Emil’s erection.

“We’re doing it because one of you murdered your master and you must all be crucified in that case.”

TSOALT 33.jpg

I took off her loincloth. “You must be nude because your clothes would be worthless after maybe two or three days on the cross. Emil has an erection because…. well, Diana is nude and so are you now, though men get hard-ons anyway. But it’ll soon go away now we’ve started nailing. And one of you had to be first, it happened to be him.”

Diana had watched me stripping Dilla. “You’re…a bastard,…. Aulus!”

“Is that his name, Diana?”

“It… should be… ‘Scumbag’. …. But yes.”

“Did you hear what he just said? We might be up there for three days?”

TSOALT 34.jpg
Diana groaned, and, as I looked up at her, a shaft of sunlight broke through the clouds and fell onto her tortured body. Dilla and I looked up at her with entirely different emotions.

Emil screamed as Lukas began to drive a nail through his left wrist. His erection was indeed dwindling.

“Can I go to him, Aulus, please?”

“No,” I said. “Your cross is this way.” I took her arm and steered her towards her cross. Stupidly, I took her under Diana’s cross just as a large blob of blood dripped from her wrist. It hit Dilla on the forehead.

“Oh…”

“Come here.” I turned her to face me. I still had her loincloth in my hand, so I used it to wipe her face.

TSOALT 35.jpg
“Aulus, you know I couldn’t stand this for three minutes, let alone three days? Just listen to poor Emil! Look at poor Diana!”

What could I say to her? Gnaeus had told me before that I shouldn’t talk to the condemned, but I couldn’t help it. I was a human doing something inhuman to another human.

“It doesn’t usually take three days,” I offered, lamely. I waved to Gunter to help me get her down onto her cross.

“Don’t bother,” she said. She sat down on her cross by herself, and watched them crucifying Emil a few feet away. Lukas was now nailing his heel to the cross.

TSOALT 36.jpg

“I just… I just can’t believe you’re about to do that to me. I know you are, but maybe this is just a terrible nightmare, and soon I shall wake up.”

I just looked at her. She looked down at herself.

“I’m sitting here, naked, in this terrible place, with these terrible things happening around me, talking to a man I don’t know.” She looked up at me. “I know Diana doesn’t like you, she calls you a ‘scumbag.’ I shall probably hate you too, soon, but thank you for listening to me, and for answering my questions. All except one.”

“Which one?”

TSOALT 37.jpg
“I want you to be honest with me. How long will I hang on my cross until…. until… the end?”

I looked up at the clouds in the sky. Tonight would probably be mild, too warm to bring mercy to any of them. I looked at her. She was fit, and healthy. Tiburcus had at least provided food, and Dilla had used it and cooked it to ensure that all in the household were well nourished. I sighed. They were in for the long haul.

“Tell me!”

“Dilla, I think you will remain alive until the day after tomorrow. All three of you.”

“WHAT? NO!!” Lukas hit the final nail, and Emil renewed his shrieks of agony.

“The day after tomorrow? I can’t bear it. I just can’t bear it. Strangle me, Aulus. Now. Please?”

Gunter passed behind me on his way to raise Emil’s cross.

She gazed up into my eyes. She looked so vulnerable, tears flooding down her cheeks. Could I really hold Dilla down while Lukas nailed her to this cross?

TSOALT 38.jpg

“Strangle me! Quickly, they are raising Emil!”

I reached out towards her neck.

“Aulus! AULUS!!” Gnaeus stopped me in my tracks.

Dilla knew her spell was broken. She looked devastated.

“Sir?”

“This wedge has split. Get us another one!”

“Yessir.”

I gestured to Gunter to keep a proper eye on Dilla, and went off on my mission. Not exactly one of the twelve labours of Hercules – a round trip of no more than fifty yards, but enough time for me to get my brain into gear. I’d come within a heartbeat of being crucified on my own cross! Fuck! She must be some kind of a witch!

TSOALT 39.jpg

I picked up a couple of wedges, used to secure the crosses upright, and headed back to where Lukas and Gnaeus were holding Emil’s cross upright in its socket.

Then the answer struck me. Diana had said ‘they were very close’. Dilla had attacked Tiburcus in a stupidly vain effort to prevent Emil’s crucifixion. Were they lovers?

I handed over the wedges, Gnaeus grunted his thanks and Lukas set about securing the cross.

I returned to Dilla.

“Move down. You’re sitting too far up the cross.”

She was now clearly terrified, her last hope of avoiding crucifixion dashed, but she did as I asked and shifted down. She whimpered as I pulled her shoulders down onto the cross. Gnaeus and Lukas were approaching.

“You killed Tiburcus.” I said, flatly. “Emil is your lover.”

“No,” she said. “He isn’t.”

Lukas counted out four nails and I pulled out her left arm for him.

“No,” said Gnaeus. “I’ll do this one.”

“Please, Aulus!” pleaded Dilla. “Don’t do this to me! Please!”

“’Aulus’, is it?” Gnaeus was amused. “You’re being a bit familiar, young lady!” He looked at me. “On first name terms with a murderess?”

“She’s just told me she didn’t do it!”

“No, she just told you he isn’t her lover. If he was, we’d be crucifying her for incest!” He placed the nail onto her wrist, and Dilla gritted her teeth for what she now knew was inevitable.

TSOALT 40.jpg

Then he brought the mallet down onto the nail, and I had my attention fully on the task of holding Dilla down until he’d got her fully secure. It didn’t take long, two or three blows and that nail was so deep into the wood that Dilla would not ever be able to free herself from it.

TSOALT 41.jpg

But she fought. By the gods, she fought. She thrashed and she screamed and she did her very best to bite me. In ten years of crucifixions I’ve never been bitten but she came as close as anyone. I leaned down hard with my arms just out of the reach of her mouth, and I was well out of range of her legs, which she was also trying in vain to use as weapons, which is exactly why I’d very quickly learned, years ago, that sitting on their body while we nail their wrists is a very bad idea indeed without the precaution of immobilising them first. And tying them before nailing them is just extra work.

The shock and agony of those nails causes utter panic. It is literally unbearable but they have no choice about bearing it. But they will do anything and say anything in an attempt to end the torture.

“STOP!! STOP!! I didn’t do it! I didn’t kill him! But please STOP!”

Gnaeus, of course, did not stop, nor did I expect him to. He, like me, had heard it all before. The pleadings, the cursings, the offers to satisfy our wildest desires, to make us rich beyond our dreams, if we will only stop nailing them to solid timber.

“Please, please – stop hurting me! Aulus! Don’t you understand? HELP! Somebody! Help! Don’t stand there watching! Make them stop!”

Soon enough, the nail was in as far as he needed it to be, and Gnaeus stood up. He liked to leave them a bit of shaft so that their wrists could slide up and down the shaft as they moved on their crosses, in a cruel parody of the sex act. Dilla looked at it incredulously.

“Get it out! It hurts! More than you know! GET! IT! OUT!”

But ordering us about didn’t work either.

Then Dilla felt the prick of a nail on her right wrist.

TSOALT 42.jpg

“NOOOO! Not more! I can’t take any morAAAARGHH!”

In moments, that nail was also secure, and I could relax and move my head out of the torrent of noise and spittle that Dilla was producing.

TSOALT 43.jpg

I looked at Dilla’s nude body and at the spectators beyond, getting a grand view as her legs thrashed about. The guy I’d spoken to earlier was watching intently. As well he might.

Keep the focus on the job, Aulus! Don't squander in thirty seconds what took you years to build up! :eusa_doh:
“No,” said Gnaeus. “I’ll do this one.”
Fortunately, Gnaeus shows quiet firmness!:chuck:

Wrists done. Now for the heels. But this time she wasn’t going to give us the kicking that Diana had given us because we had Lukas to hold one leg while I held the other.

TSOALT 44.jpg

Even so, it takes some strength to hold a leg still while a nail is hammered through the heel bone into the wood. If you start with the wrists then fighting causes them intense pain, which helps, but the adrenaline gives them quite a bit of strength. But Dilla wasn’t really a problem, certainly not with Lukas around to help.

Gnaeus went to Lukas’ side first. Dilla had stopped pleading or communicating with us in any way, by now she had realised that there was nothing she could do to prevent the inexorable progress of her crucifixion, but she kept up with her struggling and her bellows of pain.

Gnaeus was a Master of his craft, though. With unerring accuracy he drove that nail through her heel and deep into the cross, and then nimbly jumped across to my side and did the same. He stood up, cast an expert eye over the four nails, and seemed satisfied.

TSOALT 45.jpg

“I’ve put out a new wedge, sir.” I said.

TSOALT 46.jpg

“Good,” he said, and nodded to Gunter, whose big moment had come at last. Smoothly and easily, and completely ignoring the howling Dilla, he lifted the cross.

TSOALT 47.jpg

Gnaeus watched as it rose, looking for any sign of a loose nail, but he was no Roman soldier. Those nails were solid, and would give no trouble at all, easily equal to the task of supporting Dilla’s weight.

It dropped into its socked with a thump, I felt the shock through my feet. Dilla made an indescribable sound as it fell, then I watched her struggling as Gnaeus wedged the cross in solidly. She’d told me of her nightmare, now it was her reality.

What a few minutes can do. Life was good then...

Hot did you do it uncensored?!?
No particles, just bare chests! (I think). It gives you three images in a six second sequence. I didn't try to animate Diana behind but maybe I'll give it a go sometime.

The AI inntroduced her tipping her head backwards (distorting her shoulders in the process) but I wondered in cruxforumers might like to see it anyway.

Nice work with the progressive defocus and desaturation! This triple crux image reinforces the upright aspect of the suspension, and the compression of the three figures in a side view juxtaposes their breasts and prominent ribcages. They have been forced together in a shared experience which is visually dramatic, even without the animation!
The animation is also impressive. :)

I don't like him. Am I supposed to like him?

Actually, the huns originated from asian steppes bordering china. So there's a chance that they were familiar with tea. Sorry for the interrupting of this otherwise good story.
The huns originated from all over. Anthropologists and historians now suspect there were at least four different ethnic and cultural groups represented among the huns, who were most likely a tribal federation and not a single unified group. Xiongnu from what is now northern China were among them, as well as uralic-speaking people from the same west-moving group that gave rise to the finns and a lot of...well, everything they encountered along the way west. Nobody's got ANY idea where the hell their language came from as it was apparently unrelated to any of the language groups making up the Hun confederation...they're a fun field of study.

It's the Attila the Hun Show! Yes, Attila and his hoards, sweeping across western Europe seeking the hand and other bits of the fair Honoria. :D The things you do for love (or rumpy pumpy anyway).

I don't like him. Am I supposed to like him?
Strange You don't like him. For some reason... going back to his first appearance in the story...:deal:
“Why do you do it?”

“I’m a slave, I do as I’m told.”

“Yes, but come on. You’re more than a slave. You led that crucifixion, and I see no sign of your master. You could have done as she suggested, and run off with her.”

So he’d heard all that. I wondered who he might be reporting back to. “See those posts? They are all ready and waiting for their next customers. You know as well as I do that if I’d tried that, Diana would still occupy that cross, the only difference being that I’d be on the one next to her."
His suggestion here, made me suspect from the beginning, he imposes as a human incarnation of Grim Reaper!
